Visited this place in the beginning of May. The plan to cover Coorg over a week end. In general it might take more than two days to explore destination like Coorg. However we wanted to cover what ever possible in two days that includes our journey from Bangalore to Coorg as well. As I said, it was last minute plan, we started looking for accommodation in the evening time of Friday through an agent/guide suggested by Holiday IQ guys. However that lady came back with a surprise telling us that whole Coorg was sold out. It was little hard to believe but true. So it is suggested to book a good resort/hotel well in advance. However through other website we could book room in hotel by Friday night after tossing go/not-to-go many times in that evening. We started early in the morning from Bang ...Read More

We left in the morning from Bangalore at around 7. 30 Am after picking our friend from Hebbal. We took the Nice Road to reach the Mysore Highway and the same turned out to be a disaster. We spent nearly an hour to reach the toll gate with very high traffic maybe due to the long weekend. Reaching the Highway was no better with the highway with the traffic looking like Bangalore roads with bumper to bumper traffic. Although the road was good but with the traffic it wasn't an advantage and we were crawling at various stretches. We took nearly 8 hours with a breakfast break to reach Kushalnagar. The return ...Read More

"The road is in good condition"

From Bangalore, we took the Nice Road and the Mysore Road. This road is in good condition, and passes through several cities such as Channapatna, Mandya and Srirangapatna. Being a busy route, there are a lot of petrol pumps and restaurants along this route. Just a few kilometers before Mysore, you need to turn right towards Hunsur. From Hunsur, the route diverges depending on which part of Coorg you are headed to. The Bangalore - Mysore route is quite busy and traffic gets quite heavy during the day. Also, reaching Nice Road from any point within Bangalore can get quite time consuming. Hence, it is advisable to leave really early and hit Nice road by about 6.30 am.

You will enjoy the ride to Madikeri. On the way you can visit the Golden temple and nisargadhama, then visit the places nearby in Madikeri and then halt for the stay in the Raksh cottage, from where you can visit the other places near by like the tala cauvery, dubare elephant camp which includes river rafting as well. You may as well choose to visit the Nagarhole national park where you can take the safari.

The roadway was beautiful that's its recommended to travel by road from bangalore to coorg. The seats of the bus were comfortable and the journey was not so tiring due to this. The facilities available were good.
