Relaxing Trip for a day!

Sep 27, 2016
Mode of Transport: Taxi

Driving to Chandigarh is fun from Delhi. Umpteen number of restaurants for halt and new highways to connect easily. We all met at Mukabra chowk and continued in an SUV which had an ice bucket too. Kept on eating aloo Puri, nachos, choco chip cookies on the way ... Three of us with four kids. We took one break each time while going and coming back.

Fun route with free flowing traffic

Feb 1, 2016
Mode of Transport: Taxi

We were travelling to chandigarh to attend a friends wedding. We were a group of 13 people, Had hired a small bus (Force Traveller). It charged us 18/- a km plus tolls and road taxes. We started out early to beat the traffic. Also we had planned a stop over near karnal for breakfast in one of the many famous dhabas (which are no longer dhabas but hotels). The most famous of them is 'Sukhdev'. Famous for its paranthas. We were able to cover the distance in around 6 hours counting the breakfast break. The ride was smooth. There are multiple gas stations for refueling your vehicle.

The road trip from Delhi to Chandigarh is much better than before. It took just 4 and half hours to reach to Chandigarh from Delhi. Their are awesome road side dhabas on the Highway. Must visit is Amrik Sukhdev when you are going towards Chandigarh. Visit Haveli when returning from Chandigarh.

Great drive, nice breakfast on the go

Delhi to Chandigarh is the most comfortable and delicious visit in terms of lots and lots of eateries on the way, which makes me relaxed while I drive. The road condition is very good with few flyover under construction but over all its a smooth drive. If you start early in the morning there is very less traffic or no traffic you reach in around 4 hours to Chandigarh.

Enjoyed the drive and roads in good condition

We started at 6 in the morning by our own car and reached Chandigarh in around 4. 5 hours as in the morning hours traffic was very less and weather was also very pleasant. There are number of Punjabi dhabas on the way, where we enjoyed aloo paranthas with a glass full of lassi. As it was Ambala Chandigarh Highway, roads were in good conditions.
