The drive from Coimbatore to Bangalore was good

May 12, 2014
Mode of Transport: Car

The road from Thrissur to Coimbatore is comparatively better to the state of condition in past years. But due to work in progress, the drive wasn't pleasant from Thrissur to Coimbatore. Took road via Coimbatore airport to Bangalore, but the drive from Coimbatore to Bangalore is good, lot of coffee shops, bakery, restaurants, toilets and petrol pump available. Highway is maintained very nicely. No potholes. Toll charge all the way to Bangalore from Cochin was Rs.386. From Coimbatore to Bangalore-you can find Saravana bhavan, cafe coffee day, aavin parlour, kumbakonam coffee, ayengar bakery, divya bakes, adyar ananda bhavan, and mcdonalds.

Tiring, but good experience

Jan 7, 2014
Mode of Transport: Car

We drove down in our Nissan Micra from Bangalore to Kochi and then to Alappuzha. It was tiring, but a good experience. We took the Salem-Kanayakumari road - NH 47. We used the Google Maps, it really helps let me tell you. This is an extremely busy route during the festive Christmas-New Year season, so we encountered quite a lot of traffic. There are quite a few road side eateries along the way. But it's always a good idea to take some snacks and water along and also a bottle of hand sanitizer.

My experience by car

Apr 8, 2014
Mode of Transport: Taxi

We hired a cab. The journey was really comfortable. There were many refreshment stalls. It was quite relaxing. I think the best time to start the journey is at the morning time. Then we visited church, and Lulu Mall. Because we stayed for a day so we couldn't travel much. But it was really a very wonderful trip.

Travel to Kochi by taxi

Mode of Transport: Taxi

It was not great as our car was not well-maintained and had some trouble enroute. It was difficult to mend as communicating was tough. Road was nice and driver knows which places to visit so it made more beautiful. I would recommend to take your own car if you are travelling from Bangalore.

Wonderful drive to Kochi

Oct 16, 2013
Mode of Transport: Car

My husband and I drove down to Kerala. It is such a beautiful sight driving down to Kochi. Queen of Arabian sea was the place to visit and Bharat hotel is the place to stay there. The cool breeze and the coconut trees all around is so refreshing. It was not at all tiring. Kochi as a place has changed a lot from 80's, but people were so co-operative & guiding us with the route throughout.
