Non AC sleeper bus

Mode of Transport: Bus

This was my first time in non AC sleeper bus. I travelled from Bangalore to Kodaikanal. Charging point was not working (atleast the one at my seat). You have to carry your own blanket and water bottle. Though I didn't had problem travelling in a non AC bus, but in future I'll prefer AC sleeper buses.

Horrible experience!

Mode of Transport: Bus

Travelling in KPN travels was the only horrible portion of our tour to Kodaikanal. We wanted to have a sleeper bus so that kids can be comfortable. However, the bus, was not comfortable at all.

The pick up was delayed by almost 45 minutes. Considering we reached the pick up point one hour early because of unpredictable Bangalore traffic, the total waiting time was 1 hour 45 minutes. The waiting room is hot and totally closed. There is no washroom in the waiting area at KPN Bommanahalli. To our horror, they were very casual to let us know they don't have one even though there are around 50 people waiting there for a n average one hour everyday. We went to nearby Adishwar showroom, and they were kind enough to let us use their facility.

The bus was horrible and old. To top it, it was loaded with huge amount of luggage at the top. Those luggage did not belong to the passengers. So, I would assume they are kind of transport goods across state border. The bus was moving slow in spite of having the awesome Tamil Nadu roads. The bus stopped at Palani for, what we felt like an era. Probably, they were unloading the huge luggage from the top. After a long delay, the bus started for Kodaikanal. There were only another couple in the bus apart from us. The road was deserted and full of ghat section. Even though the scenery was great along the road, we were somewhat frightened by the emptiness of the bus and deserted road.

Overall, a good journey

Travel is good. Two drivers were available, half way one driver drove and another half the other driver drove. Booking counter is available in Kodaikanal, go and book the ticket directly. Don't book through 3rd person because they charge extra 100 rupees. KSRTC booking counter is available under Kodaikanal Bus stop. Prefer travel by KSRTC bus.

Taken for a ride

Mode of Transport: Bus

We booked package trip to Kodaikanal at manish Travels, Madivala. They promised an a/c bus of Manish travel departure at 10.30 pm, Madivala Masjid. We waited from 10.00 to 11.00 pm, but no bus. Then they put us on an auto. Told to get down at Madivala police station and wait. Then received message that bus is Siddaganga travels! Which came at 11. 30 pm and went past us and made all waiting tourists to run behind the bus for 200 metre till Silk Board flyover. Very cold inside bus. A/C at 18 deg C. No blanket, no paper. 1 stop in-between at a hotel with dingy toilet. No TV, no water, charging point not working.
