"Ghat roads were smooth and nice"

We took NH-4 from Pune and in-between we left the NH route. However the full trip was great, ghats were nice and smooth and safe. Lot of food and waiting places in this route. Roads are comparatively wider than the other ghats, you can easily maintain the speed of 60 km per hour and can reach within 8 hours from Pune.

It was a very good experience. It took around 10 hours to reach Ganpatiphule. There was lots of scenery during the journey. From Pune there is no option to travel by train to Ganpatipule. The only option is by road. We have followed the below route: Pune => Satara => Umbraj => Koyna Nagar => Chiplun => Sangameshwar => Nivali Phata – Ganapatipule.

"Go via Kolhapur or via Satara"

The roads are not in good condition especially in ghats. There are lot of curves which are blind turns. Request you not to drive cars at high speeds typically near the ghats, specially because you can\\\'t see a vehicle travelling towards you from the opposite directions. The speed should not be more than 40kmph near the ghats. One should visit Dholya Ganapati Mandir in Wai which is off the route by 21 kms, but worth visiting and also you can pray for a safe journey ahead.\r\n\r\n

"Roads are not in a good condition apart from the Highway "

Except from the Highway, roads are not very good. So called State Highway but suddenly a speed-breaker or a pothole comes. You can't drive more than 40-50 k mph on these roads. Ride is much longer than it should be. Karad-Chiplun Road (326 km) is not so smooth ride. Ambeghat is very scenic drive. You would love to drive from here.

Overall it was a very good experience for me and my friend. I was there with my college friends and enjoyed a lot. It‘s a good place for picnic and refreshments. We booked a non AC Khurana Travel from Pusad and first travel to Pune and then Mumbai and lastly towards Ganpatipule it was an awesome experience for me.
