Mumbai to Bengaluru flight was on time. Flight was smooth and we got out at Kempe Gowda International Airport when the weather was at its best. Cool, refreshing. City Buses from Airport are blessing for passengers. We got into an AC bus. Traffic was very less as it was early Saturday morning (8:15 AM) We reached our destination before time! Bengaluru to Mumbai flight had some teething issues. At Boarding time which was mentioned on the Boarding pass was not followed. We were told it will take little time to board. And finally when we were allowed there was nobody to take up the boarding copy which flight authority assistant always does before letting a passenger to board on flight. We waited for couple of minutes for this. Which flight was airbourne there was somebody who needed medical ...Read More
"AC chair car are well-cushioned and push-back seats"Posted 9 May

I was in for a bad ride that left me sore at the end of the six hour journey. What I disliked about the train was that they have crammed in 120 seats per coach with scant regard for comfort of travelers. I got seat no 56 which is a single seat packed in a corner. This seat reminded me of the last row in Quanto. It is barely enough for a person of average build like me. At 5\' 8, I was just able to squeeze in and get out of it by banging my knees against the seat in front a couple of times. If I were 6\' tall, I guess I would have had to go for knee replacement surgery if I managed to fit myself into that trap! Usually, seats in AC chair car are well-cushioned and push-back. I found the push-back lever but there is not even 1 mm gap at the back to push the backrest behind! The AC in C-5 ...Read More
"Decent train journey and nothing exceptional"Posted 28 Apr

This train starts in the night at Mumbai. So, one can get into it after the usual chores are done and rest. It reaches Bangalore around 10 Pm. So, that too makes it convenient to travel home after the peak traffic hours and sleep peacefully. Having travelled in Sleeper, 3 AC and 2 AC, it offers what Indian Railways offers in every other express train. Nothing exceptional or outstanding. Pune's Vadapav, Lonavla's chikki, Dal vada of Dharmavaram are a must try. Food is decent, if you are unable to get from home before boarding the train. Since it contains pantry, there is continuous movement of refreshments and snacks prepared freshly. So, there wont be any dearth of food for foodies :) Bedding, toilets were decent. We cannot expect 5-star type in Indian Railways! So, it was what wa ...Read More
"Pune-Bangalore road is excellent"Posted 22 Oct

Karnataka State road specially Pune to Bangalore are excellent - in fact best in India. I have also travelled on Bangalore-Hyderabad, Bangalore-Cochin via Krishnagiri and Bangalore-Mysore, Coorg. Hyderabad-Bidar. Karnataka State Highways are very well maintained and safe because of excellent road directional reflective sign ages, and public utility viz toilets & water tap facilities en route. The road from Ankola to Bangalore Pune Express way upto Hubli through the dense forest is also excellent, but a little deserted petrol pumps and restuarant/dhaba wise. Please ensure the same after every 25 kms atleast. The only bad stretch of Karnataka state road is the coastal road from Mangalore to Shirur, please improve.

The Bus journey was relaxing and helpful in terms of timings. Bus provided all sort of amenities and the breaks on proper timing and it was good. It also had entertainment services. Bus was on time and the seats were comfortable. An advise to travellers that if possible do travel in MSRTC bus as it was a great experience.
