Road condition was very good. We went through Nahan and Poanta Sahib on the way to Mussoorie. During back journey we went to Haridwar and visited Har ki Pauri and had lunch at Hoshiarpuri Hotel. The food was awesome. After that we visited Patanjali Yogpeeth. Then we traveled through Roorkie-Saharanpur-Yamunanagar route. The road condition was very very bad. There were knee depth potholes after crossing Yamuna and up to Yamunanagar car ran on first gear. Pathetic condition of road. One must avoid.

Road till HP border is good. After entering HP, NH72 is completely broken and you can't pick up speed. Road quality stays terrible all the way up to Dehradun with bumps, speed breakers, potholes or dips every 500 meters. GPS takes you through a village or you can choose to pass through the crowded Dehradun city (Rajpura Road).

Road journey from Chandigarh to Mussourie is about 235 KM. Except from some stretches, road condition is good. And although, from Dehradun to Mussourie, road is not as wide as Kalka-Shimla Road, but still this stretch is most enjoyable with panoramic view of Dehradun city from some points.

Travelling by own car to Mussoorie was a good experience. Enjoyed a lot while travelling. We could experience the natural beauty of the place. Best part was that we did not face any trouble with the journey. It was a hassle free and extremely good. On the way we did not stop for any snacks or tea break.
