We were a family of 3 driving from Ahmedabad to Ambaji first to do darshan of Maa Amba before proceeding to beautiful Mount Abu in Rajasthan. The drive was smooth and easy with several petrol pumps along the way. You could choose to stop at a variety of hotels along the way for scrumptious meals. The air is clean and fresh. The drive is beautiful. The road uphill is windy and can make one nauseous so just be prepared for that. It is best to drive up or down the mountain during daylight as it is poorly lit and very windy. Lots of monkeys are seen along the way but it is illegal to feed them so be warned. The road is two ways and could take up to 30 minutes to climb. Have some nice music playing in the background to set the scene and once you are on top of Mount Abu just enjoy the crisp air ...Read More

"Be extra careful while driving ... roads are narrow "

We as a family enjoyed a lot. Stopped by 2-3 times to have snacks and click photographs. The road is very good with all signage and you get whatever you want anytime, anywhere. Good scenes once you cross deesa cross road. The main attraction is the journey of 25 km from Abu road to Mt.Abu; its amazing with great scenes all around like valley and mountains. I had never seen such a beauty before. Now, if you travel on your own car or if you have a hired car, you can stop at any place you like. However, because the roads are a little narrow you have to be extra careful while driving!

It was an enjoyable and most promising experience so far. Must visit Ambaji and Unjha temples of Devi\'s before you actual start heading to Abu. Towards heading back to Ahmedabad on the highway, there is one restaurant which serves you delicious and yummy typical Punjabi parathas and sabji, that you must have it.

One fine day we friends decided to go on a trip to Mt. Abu. The very next day we took one of our friend's car and at early morning we headed for Mt. Abu. The route is very well-facilitated with restaurants, dhabas, petrol pumps and accommodations. One can even take the route of Mehsana-Ambaji and visit the temple. We opted NH-8. The journey was fun with friends.
