A visit to the abode of serene beauty

Nov 22, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

Goa can be compared to the Himalayas due to its importance on the tourist map in south India, what with its beautiful waterfalls encircled by gorgeous forests and its picturesque beaches of strategic importance. I boarded the Yesvantpur-Vasco Express in November 2014 on a bright and sunny day. The train goes via Tumkur, Davangere, Hubli and the total journey time between the 2 stations is around 15 hours. Goa has two major railheads - Vasco Da Gama and Margao. There are also two Konkan Railway stations - Karmali and Thivim. If you are going to Panaji, Karmali is the closest station and Thivim is the station to go to Mapusa or Calangute.

Journey was good but uneventful

May 25, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

Normal train travel. As expected normal travel journey. Should start a little late as it reaches very early and it's little difficult to get the cab. Journey was good but uneventful. Train started on time but guess there should be more frequency of these trains so more of us can utilize this facility.

Twist and turn of journey

Mode of Transport: Train

Hi!!

Let me introduce my self, working in Bangalore for marketing. My friends had planned for Goa trip from 24th December to 1 January. I was not sure to join them and finally 24th morning, I decided to Join them. Problem was with travel bookings friends had planned safe night travel by Volvo Bus from Bangalore to Panjim. I got my back to office in morning and after completing my working hour I went directly to Railway Station. In morning I had checked all available bus booking online sites. redBus.in, Abhibus, Mybusticketand other and no seats were available. So I thought train can be only option to reach Goa on time anyways sleeper and all A/C coach were in waiting list. I found this trip will be amazing, I don't find single a single seat from bus nor train to reach Goa next morning. All passenger are smiling and boarding train with full energy to go and explode in Goa.

Train journey offers beautiful views and the trains was in excellent condition. Everything was clean and green. There was no disturbance and I felt complete privacy. Travellers were very friendly and refreshment stall in all stations were welcoming. Would again choose the same train for my next travel.

Unforgetable holiday expedition!

Sep 6, 2014
Mode of Transport: Train

As per my personal experience one should catch Vasco da Gama Bangalore Link Express/Slip (02779) from Bangalore Central Railway Station. And to my surprise we boarded the train with lots of excitement and spent every minute with joy and happiness with my friends. Meanwhile, during the travel we had snacks and saw various hills and felt the calmness of blowing wind. However, the IRCTC services are the best and reached up to our expectations keeping us busy with tasty, spicy and healthy food. Additionally, each passenger had been provided with mobile charging port along with Wi-Fi connectivity to keep connected at each and every step of the journey.
