A memorable journey by train

Oct 29, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

If you want to visit Araku valley, you must ride the Kirandul passenger from Vizag. It starts at 7:05 am everyday from Vizag and reaches Araku at 11:05 am. You can also drop at Borra cave station (10.02am). It would be better if you reserve seats at prior. The 3 hour journey consists of 58 tunnels, many bridges connecting the hills, mesmerizing scenery, emerald green eastern ghats and many sparkling waterfalls that amazed me with their beauty. I could not wink for some hours while travelling in the amazing ride maintained by Indian Railway. One can also ride this train to reach Jagdalpur, where the Chitrakot waterfalls resides.

The train journey offers the best scenery for travel enthusiasts

Mar 22, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

The travel is just a passenger express but the journey is worth praising for it's route and the locations it covers. It travels through the areas of Simhachalam and Kottavalasa, Sivalingha Puram, Borr Guhalu. The train seems to be mostly on time as it starts at the Vizag Station due to new initiatives by new government and the trains seems to have clean bio-toilets and neat atmosphere. The journey seems to pass through the beautiful places. It has hill tunnels in the train route and the children likes these types of experience throughout the journey. The greenery present along the route gives you a pleasant train ride.

Train ride through hills and tunnels

Dec 31, 2013
Mode of Transport: Train

The 1st class ticket is only about Rs. 300. This will give you the chance to ride the old age 1st class compartments that are now rare in Indian rail. The ride is excellent, through hills and tunnels. As the train starts at 6.50 from Visakhapatnam and if you are a late riser then you can make use of the large beds in the 1st class to have a nap in between. You cannot buy tea or coffee on the way; only few local ladies will appear at some stations to sell bananas, oranges and some peanuts.
