How can I book and print e-ticket?  

Indian Railways now allow IRCTC train booking online for the convenience of the passengers. To do an IRCTC online ticket booking, follow the steps below - 

  • Go to the IRCTC website 
  • Log in  
  • Search for the trains by providing the 'from station code' and 'to station code', date & class of journey 
  • All the trains running between the chosen stations will be listed 
  • Select the train and check the latest availability of seats according to class 
  • Provide the details and make payment 
  • Print your Rail e-ticket 
  • The e-ticket will usually contain all the information you need to know about your booking 

Dharamshala train tickets booking and booking for trains from Mumbai to Alibaug or other cities can be done online by logging on to the official website of IRCTC. 

How can I cancel my train reservation ticket? 

Tickets once reserved can be cancelled online, if a confirmed ticket is cancelled within 24 hours and up to 4 hours before the scheduled leaving of the train, cancellation charges are usually according to the rules of the railways. 

To cancel an e-ticket: 

  • Go to the IRCTC website 
  • Log in with your username & password 
  • Select Cancel Ticket  
  • Enter your PNR and phone number used for railway ticket booking  
  • Select the passenger you wish to cancel 
  • See the approximate refund after cancellation charges 
  • Proceed for cancellation 

How to check refund status? 

After the cancellation of the ticket, the refund would usually be processed within 5-6 working days. To check the refund status follow the steps below -  

  • Go to the IRCTC website 
  • Log in with your username & password  
  • Select refund status on cancelled ticket 
  • The updated status of your refunds will be displayed on the screen 

How to check PNR status?

PNR status can be checked online also. PNR is assigned for every ticket. Once the waitlist movement happens, the status of PNR will change changes. Or you can check PNR status by sending an SMS as 'PNR <PNR Number>' to 139. 

Refund on lost/ misplaced tickets: 

According to the IRCTS Website – “No refund is permissible against lost/misplaced tickets. However, the passenger will be allowed to travel on the reservation already made on confirmed or RAC ticket. If the loss of confirmed/RAC ticket is reported before the preparation of the reservation chart, duplicate ticket will be issued on the collection of the clearance charge per passenger. If the loss of confirmed/RAC ticket is reported after the preparation of the reservation chart, duplicate ticket will be issued on the collection of the 50% of the fare. No duplicate ticket will be issued after the preparation of reservation chart in case of RAC ticket. “
