      Fly through Yamuna Express

      Dec 15, 2015
      Mode of Transport: Taxi

We started around noon from Agra. It was a little crowded area and we moved at average speed. But shortly we reached expressway the whole picture changed. The drive became cool and smooth. The weather was good and the surroundings soothing, far from the maddening crowd. The road was quite good & we moved at high speed. There were petrol pumps & food joints on the way. The food was nice. Once we neared Delhi more & more cars blocked the way, the speed reduced as expected. We were relieved to reach our hotel.

Road condition is good; no good eateries or dhabas enroute

      Aug 18, 2014
      Mode of Transport: Car

Yes, this part of our country has a highway running through it and you see people squatting by the side dangerously, selling little artefacts, fruits, vegetables, and anything else that can be sold. The highway, therefore, is a mall so to say. The pictures that I have included are enough proof of what I am trying to say. This stretch does not have any reasonably good place to stop for a snack break nor good eateries or dhabas for a refreshing dose of tea or coffee. So it is a good idea to be fully stocked if you're driving from Agra to Gwalior. The road condition is good, though not as fluent as the Expressway between Delhi and Agra.

      A good journey

      Nov 15, 2015
      Mode of Transport: Taxi

We are on official tour to New Delhi, But we capture some time to see untold beauty of TAJ.

On 2nd Nov morning sharp 9 O'clock we hired a scorpio (black beauty) to see white taj beauty. After journey we express that we should start journey at early morning in 5 0'clock else 6 o'clock.

So cool morning of paharganj streets we are heading to CP, pragati maidan, & noida, then enter into yamuna expressway, so clean highway as we entered all vehicles were fast & heading to chase expressway in so energy.

Whole expressway is divided into four lane(up) right most lane is only to overtake no vehicle is continuous moving into this lane, all are following this lane discipline strictly. Signage shows it in good manners.

Last left lane is to halt & low speed, next to this lane only heavy vehicles are moving, next to this all cars & buses were heading.

After crossing some distances signage shows for "nilgai" We are searching for that but our black beauty is in top gear of speed 80-90km/hr, all have to follow speed limit, signage displaying for speed limit else penalty.

We are stop for parathas on highway, they gives mix parathas with butter & curd, awesome taste, after this tasty parathas, we bought anardana goli to accumulate all that, nice place to for break we sit on charpai & take parathas on wooden plank.

With a break of half an hour, we move again to agra with imagination of beauty of taj.

Again nice road with us, now we enter into agra & toll ends pay 575 for return, here's police checking for entering vehicle, all vehicle penalty for no PUC certificate, so KEEP PUC OF VEHICLE WHILE ENTER INTO AGRA.

When we enter into agra roads were narrow & along with farms, toll given, now feel true indian roads.

We park our black beauty at mandi gate of taj, Around 1 KM premises is far away from taj entrance.

Taj Yamuna Expressway - a must drive experience

      Nov 9, 2015
      Mode of Transport: Taxi

Those who love driving must do this stretch. It costs about 560+ bucks both way toll from Greater Noida to Agra but it is worth the experience. It is concrete road all the way and with very minimal traffic.

I have seen such organised highways outside India so this was comparable. The signages were good and clear and at regular intervals they had an exit for food and washrooms.
