The Pepsu Road Transport Corporation was established on the 16th of October in 1956 after the Road Transport Corporations Act was passed in 1950. This corporation was built with the objective of providing an economical, safe and efficient mode of travel to the inhabitants of Patiala. PEPSU, Patiala and East Punjab States Union, was an Indian state that was created in 1948, the capital of which was Patiala. The corporation has a fleet of more than 912 buses and covers over 600 routes. It also has a total of 10 bus depots which are located in Bathinda, Barnala, Patiala, Budhlada, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Faridkot, Chandigarh, Sangrur and Special Cell. When PEPSU, the state, was merged into Punjab, this transport corporation was renamed to PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTS). Headquartered in Patiala, PEPSU runs intrastate and interstate buses covering most places in North India.

PEPSU Road Transport Corporation has two ticket booking options. One is booking tickets at bus station ticket counters while the other one is booking tickets online. If cancellation of ticket is done one hour before the departure of bus, 10% of the ticket price is deducted as a cancellation fee and the rest of the amount is refunded into your bank account.
