Excellent location and stay

6.2/7
Posted 31 Oct, 2015

Tea valley . . First of all its greatest attraction. The location well inside a tea estate gives a serene and beautiful landscaping to the resort We went for just a day peaceful rest in October and the resort provided that. Our kid was also happy with several alleys and a wonderful tea The rooms are semi independent cottages overlooking the tea valley. It has indeed more than decent amenities. But do take your own brush and paste, which is quite much a common amenities every where else but not here Food, breakfast which is complementary is indeed good with diversity and local flavours. But the dinner food, was not quite worth the grand sum it cost The room tariff is quite high if we contact directly or through agents. Always look through travel site and applying all available offers and coupons. I could manage around 60% off through various offers Finding the location is a tricky one, unless you keep on asking the reception to direct over phone. The reception people and staff are very cordial and pleasing to interact On a whole, it was worth the money we spent.

Excellent hotel with lovely panoramic view of the valley

5.8/7
Posted 12 Sep, 2014

We had visited this last October during the week my birthday falls, this was our post wedding honeymoon, which happened kind of late. Trip was part of a 8 day tour to Kerala The day we reached, out valet had come to pick us up from the Airport, the flight got delayed and we had to reach the hotel only by late evening 9 Pm instead of reaching by 4 Pm. The road to the hotel is moderately bouncy with potholes and narrow edgy road around the valley mountains. With no lights on the curves, we were completely relying on the driver to take us to the destination. By the time we were halfway we starting doubting if this was a good choice for the hotel. Slowly and steadily we reached the hotel with some difficulties, because it was night time When the car reached the entrance, we were promptly greeted by the gatekeeper and helpers. They had all information about our stay. The road from the main entrance to the hotel entrance is also on an elevation. There was quite a fog and the weather was cold that day. The reception was kept quite clean and nice and tidy. All items placed at correct locations. The hotel manager greeted us and asked us if the journey was good and peaceful. He promptly provided us the keys to the room and informed us that the restaurant will close by 9. 30 Pm, and we should order food before that. We discussed and ordered our dinner Being night time, we were not much able to figure out the overall hotel, as to how it was The night fell in and we crashed just like that The next day I woke up early morning by 6. 30 Am, wife was still sleeping. Our room was a valley view room, with an open terrace. I went there and HOLA, what a view it was. Lovely and splendid view of the whole tea valley. The hotel is totally surrounded by green. The sun was shining at us on the terrace The room has its separate gas water heater for hot water. The bathrooms were average but clean. All amenities were in place. The bed was slightly creaky but we didn't complain The rooms are at different levels, since the hotel canvasses elevated portion of the mountain. They also have a play area for the kids, and some activity area for adults as well. But I guess it was closed or probably not open during that time. The breakfast there at the hotel was average, and since there is not other choice for us, we have to eat there. The breakfast is a moderate spread with additional ad hoc items that you can order (Included already in the complementary breakfast), which is a good thing Since we had taken this hotel as part of a package we got it for pretty lower price, almost 50% of what was charged if you go there unannounced Hotel is pretty far from Munnar main city, and other places, but when you come down you get a nice view of the hotel Overall, this is an excellent hotel.

Ambiance of the hotel was superb

5.1/7
Posted 18 Aug, 2014

I reached the hotel by own. Parking facility was available. Inner and outer look of the hotel was nice. Ambience of the hotel was superb. They served welcome drink at arrival. Services were fully satisfactory. I had no problem during check-in and check-out process. They served complimentary breakfast. Booking and front office was very good. Indoor and outdoor activities were not available. Hotel was located conveniently. Location of the hotel was fantastic. Rooms were well furnished, neat and clean. TV, AC and other basic amenities were available. Valley view was available from the room window. Food was fabulous. It was a relaxed holiday with my family in November month. It is a highly recommendable hotel for travelers.

This resort is spread over a large area

5.5/7
Posted 25 Nov, 2013

I would like to share my experience here. We have visited Munnar in January 2013 and stayed in Tea Valley Resort for 3 nights. This resort is located in the tea plantation valley, about 3 km from Munnar city. Resort location is really good and we enjoyed the beauty of Munnar here. Resort room was good. We stayed in a deluxe room. These rooms are good, with good ventilation and a separate balcony where you can sit and relax. Regarding food, it was good. They served a good breakfast and dinner, with different varieties every day. I recommend travelers to stay in these resorts rather than holes, as resorts serve a quality food than hotels here. The resort staffs were kind, helpful and they responded well to any queries/clarifications we asked. This resort is spread over a large area(I don't know the exact value), with gardens, birds, and also ideal for trucking/adventure activity lovers. Overall, I had a pleasant stay in this Tea Valley resort at Munnar and I would like to thank them for making my trip a memorable one. I recommend this resort for everyone who visit Munnar and want to enjoy beauty of nature and good food.

Spacious room; courteous staff

5.8/7
Posted 1 Jul, 2014

Tea valley is one of the best resorts I had visited recently. The rooms are spacious and staff were courteous. What impressed me the most with the resort is the green tea valley view from the room. The amenities were all good except with the TV set which appeared to be from 90's . . Compared with the number of food items for lunch and dinner and the quality of the food, it is expensive. Since the resort is located amid tea estates, access to the nearest shop is also difficult. So I recommend travelers to stock up necessary items before reaching the resort. Overall I would definitely recommend the Tea Valley resort for a pleasant and memorable stay. One of the best experiences I had.

Awesome hotel with quality veg food

6.4/7
Posted 19 Jul, 2014

Location of hotel was beautiful and the hotel services were excellent. Provided good food and the quality was enjoyable. I had travelled by bus to this hotel but situated far from the bus stand. Appearance of hotel was very nice and located in beautiful place. The rooms were spacious neat and clean well maintained. There was a tea valley view can see from the room balcony. There was no delay with check in and check out process. The hotel was suitable for vegetarian food. They did not organise any activities in the hotel. I would like to recommend to other travellers. I had stayed for one day and all services were good. The money spent in the hotel was reasonable and it was a honeymoon trip in this hotel.

Good place to stay in peace but poor location

4.4/7
Posted 28 Nov, 2014

I had visited hotel in first week of September. We reached in the morning around 8 am. Location is 3-4 km inside from main road. If you don't have your own vehicle than it will be going to be very difficult for you to reach. We had already informed the hotel manager about reaching. But he gave room around 12 only. We played table tennis and taken breakfast and so it was good. Room interior are perfect for honeymoon couples. But location not good if you want to explore Munnar. Tree house for taking snaps was good. You can do bargain but hotel will charge too much for it. Dinner was around 500 Rs per plate with non veg and veg, for veg not too much varieties. Road to the hotel was very narrow. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. If you want to explore Munnar don't stay here, but if you want to enjoy in peace than this will be the good place to stay.

Good hotel with friendly staff and clean room

5.9/7
Posted 31 Jan, 2015

The hotel where I stayed was not so convenient to travel but still my experience in this hotel was good. The interior and exterior look of the hotel was good. The staff in the hotel were friendly, helpful and quick in service. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. The room was maintained neat, clean with working amenities. The staff used to clean the room regularly. The food from the hotel was in good taste, which was in buffet system at reasonable price. There were no activities or sightseeing trip or pick up drop facility available. The overall money was worth and I can recommend this hotel to other travellers. I stayed in this hotel with my family in the month of February. There is nothing to suggest to this hotel, as everything was good.

Memorable stay with homely atmosphere

6.4/7
Posted 18 Feb, 2014

We have gone to Kerala for the first time in a relaxing mode with family of four. It was a family tour. The location, appearance, arrangement of the hotel is excellent. The architect has really taken the efforts to utilize each and every space of the hilly area. The hotel is situated surrounded by tea gardens (the name is worth). The reception is excellent and one feels the homely atmosphere. The rooms are very spacious & comfortable with sufficient room, bathroom accessories. There was no mean attitude. The room service was very prompt with immediate fulfilment. The beds are spacious and comfortable. The view and scene from the rooms is just marvellous & beautiful. Being away from crowded & polluted environement, one gets peace of mind & soul. The restaurant is very nice and the food quality is superb. There is no a-la-carte menu in the evening (buffet). However, as per our request we were allowed to select the food and charged accordingly. We are thankful to the hotel. Our stay was very much comfortable and memorable.

I have booked it through a online package from seasons India Holiday, which included one night stay and sightseeing at Hotel Tea Valley Resort It was very good experience of stay of a night. Location is beautiful and view is too good. Rooms are welding and decorated with beautiful balcony. Hotel is located on hilly areas in between of tea farms. Near by sightseeing is also good. Food and hotel design is also very good, stay is enjoyable. The hotel itself is also having its own way of sightseeing and options like trekking etc. Thanks for the memorable experience and service.

Excellent views & rooms, but less accessible

6.0/7
Posted 7 Dec, 2015

Had booked a honeymoon cottage for my stay there. The cottage was at the top end of the resort (on a hill) and the view from outside the balcony was amazing. Coupled with the weather which was a bit foggy, it gave a terrific experience The room was well decorated as per the pictures they had sent and also on the travel portals and was extremely neat and clean. The room service was also superb. The garden and the swans inside also added to the beauty We had requested for a tree top candle light dinner as well, which was also well arranged added with a bottle of wine. Overall the stay was delightful The only issue we faced was getting to the resort, with its narrow and not so good roads. We missed the only signboard that was there, and it added to our misery. And the food, it was just ordinary. Nothing to complement about. But otherwise a good experience.

Pleasant staff, well maintained room

The front desk staff were pleasant, helpful and the room service was prompt too, they were caring and very attentive to all my needs. Room was spacious, neat and well maintained, has TV, room heater & geyser facility in the room and there was a mountain view from the room. I had veg and non-veg food varieties, which was I stayed and the quality and taste of the food was very good and also provided food for my driver. There were no activities and there was a huge parking space facility. If required they arrange a vehicle for sightseeing places, but I went with our own vehicle. Hotel appearance and interior was very good and there was no problem while check-in and check-out. I went here for relaxation with family.
