Spice Garden Homestay, Coorg
Nellore Estate Kutta, South Coorg
I think this was one of our best holidays we had since a long long time.....I highly recommend Spice Garden...it was a memorable stay that we had and definetely Spice Garden is "Value for Money".. I would really recommend this homestay. Go for this place if you want to enjoy a peaceful holiday. You may not even get mobile network at few places.

Stay, food everything was excellent. We had privacy, the most important thing. Only the location was far inside, but it's worthy. The room was very spacious for four of us, with the additional entertainment in the form of television with all the regional channels you would love to watch. Hot water was available at all times. The only thing to be appreciated in coorg is this resort.
Awesome experience, enjoyed each second of the stay.Children had loads of fun playing, Relaxed place for my aged parents also. Shared wildlife pictures with the owner.ðŸ™ðŸ‘ŒðŸ‘ŒðŸ‘Œwould love to spend more time in the place, had a very tight schedule so could not spend time, will make sure to do so next time
A very nice place to stay here, with family. Excellent reception and hospitality by Ms. Reina and Mr. Naveen. Mr. Naveen has been an excellent guide to us in helping us visit places around. Early morning walk through the coffee plantations in the fog was truly refreshing... added to that were the sounds of varieties of birds were mesmerising. Rooms are neat and tidy... Nice food too.. Overall it was a very nice stay.. Special thanks to Sashi (caretaker) and other staff for their support. I would want to plan for another holiday only at this place in the near future and this time for some more days....Would definitely recommend this place to friends.. Krishna Murthy, Hyderabad.
Great location, awesome food & amazing hospitality by Navin. Stayed in the tent and was a memorable holiday ..The place is surrounded by acres of Cardmom, Pepper & Coffee estates .Completely away from all the rush & crowd ..Very near to Nagarhole & Tolpetty national parks .
Lovely place for a 2 day get-a-away. Amazing food by Ms. Raina and lovely hospitality by Mr. Naveen. Great value for money too. Located very close to Machaan. Better than Machaan, as you have all the privacy. The guided plantation tour that Naveen provided us, was good. Gathered a lot of interesting facts. We were there for a very short while. It was a trip planned at a very short notice. We would love to go back and stay there for a longer time, visit the near by water falls, temple and another wildlife safari.

The experience of the hotel was nice and stay was comfortable and the hotel was conveniently located. There were no staff and the room were spacious, neat and clean and nice. AC, TV, geyser everything were functioning properly. There was tea garden view from room. The total destination was great and money spent on hotel was valuable. I like to recommend this hotel to other travellers.
First I will mention few words... it\'s not hotel. It\'s perfect home stay. I have been with my family and stayed in Spice Gargen. This is one of the wonderful accommodation which is not commercial in South Coorg. Excellent facilities to stay with family. Please mention them, if you are going with family. With our package we got lunch and Breakfast. Excellent food prepared by Landlady Raina. Don\'t forget to buy Fruit wine and Spices before you leave Spice garden. It\'s very less cost and tasty wine you get there. Finally I prefer to this place to spend peaceful time of my weekend which took 6 hours drive from Bangalore. Naveen sir will guide for forest drive. He shares his personal experience in forest. Lot many thing to enjoy. Best place to stay in South Coorg. Big thanks to Naveen & Raina. :)
We came here seeking peace and a quick getaway from the hustle bustle of the city. All our earlier holidays were spent either in a hotel or a resort and there most of the time spent in the room was in front of a TV or surfing the internet. We found everything we were looking for in Spice Garden and we also found few things more than what we had expected. We found the greenery, the sounds of the wild which is almost like a myth for us the city dwellers.Instead of waking up to the sound of an alarm clock in the morning, we were woken up by the sweet sound of birds chirping and the Cicada ofcourse :). This was our first vacation in Coorg and in a home stay.We didn't know what it would be like staying in a home stay. But after staying here in Spice Garden and especially in company of Mr.
We visited Spice Garden in January 2012 and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by Naveen and Raina. We were both a little ill after picking something up in Mysore, but the generous hospitality, the beautiful location and the tasty home-cooking helped us both to recover. It was also a nice chance to see another side of India after spending a week in the cities (Bangalore and Mysore). Naveen had lots of useful suggestions and information about what to see in the area. We visited the Wayanad National Park, which is just a few kilometres away in Kerala, and saw an elephant and lots of deer. It was also great to have the chance to look around the estate and find out about the wildlife, the plants and the crops being grown there.
I liked the fact that it was secluded from the city, its far away. Thats exactly what we look for when we go for a vacation and the house itself it was not like any regular hotel. It was more like a home itself. The staffs were quitw friendly and i was blown away by the way they take care of their guests. The Food was really good but i would request them to be more liberal with the quantity.I will not say it was less but we had to share it with the other room mates so if they take that into consideration that would be good. Rooms were good but the only thing was that the fan that they have put in the room was a bit noisy. Rest it was fine. There were a lot of things to do in the homestay.
A lovely place to get away to on the weekend. It\'s 5-6 hours from Bangalore. You get to go through the Nagarhole National Park.. seen more animals of different kinds on this trip (deer, sabhar, wild boar, peacocks, elephant, wild buffalo..) then on all the other wildlife safaris I\'ve gone on put together. It\'s on the Wayanad border so you could go to some of the places there as well.. Loved the walk through the coffee Plantation, the hosts Naveen and Raina were wonderful in all respects. Food was good and plentiful, Naveen is a keen naturalist and can regale you with many tales. Some of the \'spots to visit\' around this place like Kuruva island can be invaded by hordes of people on the weekend - which can be a turnoff if you don\'t like crowds.
Amazing, overall experience was superb. I would say please don\'t plan your itinerary at all just go and stay with Spice garden and you will have the best of things to do guided by Naveen and you will get best of food cooked by Raina (Naveen\'s wife). We enjoyed our stay in Tent which gave us absolutely our privacy time plus we enjoyed our whole day and night experience with Tour to his plantation.
This was my sixth visit to Coorg and undoubtedly one of my best. The pristine environs of the homestay with the Nagarhole forest in the vicinity and the Brahmagiri hills right across, one cannot ask for more.We stayed in a tent which itself was an amazing adventereous experience. Our host Naveen was a storehouse of information about the flora and fauna of the region. An avid wildlife enthusiast and activist he is doing great job in educating the locals on the values of conservation.Overall it was an exhilarating experience.
