I have stayed in this hotels at least thrice and every time it turned out to be a pleasant stay. The hotel is nicely located and the service be it airport pick or food or the ambiance remains the same every time I go there. Rooms on the higher floor have a nice view of Chennai city and one can relax looking at the view in the morning sipping a cup of tea or see the city go off to sleep with a glass of beer in the evening. The room has a nice place to sit and work with internet connection, slightly costly but useful, tea coffee maker and a nice minibar. The wooden flooring in the room and perfectly maintained bathrooms really put you to ease and nice comfortable bed has the attraction to just lie down and consume drinks, television or enjoy the company of your partner for hours together and of course one can enjoy the best sleep. Last time coming form Mumbai and Delhi this proved to be a much better hotel in terms of amenities, decore and price that they charge for all these luxuries. The high points of the hotel are actually outside the rooms and their restaurant \'main Street\' has the best buffet breakfast that I have enjoyed, \'Southern Aromas\' is a specialty restaurant where one can enjoy authentic South Indian live music and food. For those who like to visit nice pubs, Bikes and Barrels is one of the best pubs in Chennai and I found women in traditional South Indian getup with Gajra and all enjoying their evening. Out and out a nice place to spend a couple of days if you are in Chennai for work or pleasure.
I had been to this hotel in the month of September 2016 for holiday visit with family. It was booking through hotel site. The destination was very good as the beach was very good. The location of the hotel was very good. The appearance of the hotel was very good as it was very luxurious. The receptionist at this hotel was very good as they were very friendly. The room at this hotel was very good and it was compact with all the facilities too. The services at this hotel were very good and prompt. The food at this hotel was very good as they provided complimentary breakfast too. There was a travel desk and it was good. The overall, experience was good at this hotel. I recommend this hotel to other travellers.
I had gone to Chennai to visit a few relatives. The moment I stepped in Chennai, I was dying to get to the hotel - temperature was about 42 degC, and I needed AC badly (Bangalore is not as hot as this!!). The hotel is located in one of the prime areas of Chennai - T Nagar, which is in the midst of all business and shopping activities. They have a relatively spacious entrance, and the valet/concierge is quick to help you unload the moment he sees your car in front of the entrance. Front office - The staff were really courteous and quick. Infact I did not have to show the online booking confirmation printout (though yatra.com specifically told me to take a printout and give it to them - saved me 2 more rupees). Just had to give them my name and voila - the room was all ready to be occupied. Room - I had taken a Deluxe double room. It was not too big nor small. There was a double bed, 2 piece sofa set and a teapoy, and also a working table for business purposes. The room was clean and smelled fresh and nice. However 1 big drawback - the shower cubicle in the bathroom was not properly fitted - water kept coming out into the main bathroom area and even out of the room. I got a earful from my wife - she thought it was deliberately done by me so that she doesn't enjoy her holiday :). The sink was blocked too, and water was draining slower than Pujara's strikerate in the recent IPL!!! I complained immediately, and the maintenance team was quick to report. They checked and found it to be true and assured my wife it was not my fault (God bless them). Room was changed and the new room was perfect. Food&Drink - "Main Street" is their 24 hour restaurant. They serve an amaxing breakfast with a wide choice of food, right from idli/dosa to bacon, pancakes, eggs, chicken fry etc. This is one breakfast worth having - infact I woke up early so that I get more time to eat ot my heart's and stomach's content. There is also the inhouse pub called "Bikes & Barrel" which plays good music (though quite loud and no point going if you want to have a drink and catch up with your mates). Service was excellent. Here I shsould point out that this pub is spread across 2 floors - Ladies, Couples and hotel guests are allowed to sit in the ground floor, while Stags (Gents) are asked to go up and mingle in the first floor. I guess this is to avoid any issues - Good concept. There is also a rooftop restaurant called "Crown" (opens only for dinner), which was being talked about by all my friends but unfortunately I was unable to visit the place. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and broadband connection in the rooms as well as in the lobby - this was a great relief as I find that most hotels nowadays charge for Wi-Fi. Also, the Wi-Fi speeds are quick - in the range of 2Mbps.
It is an excellent hotel to stay, location was nearby to my business work and staff response and service was excellent even during floods. They arranged a cab in that heavy rain for me to catch a flight on time. I didn't get a chance to involve in any activities.
I went to Chennai for my VISA interview and stayed at the hotel for few days. They provided a good discount for staying more than 2 nights and booked a non-smoking king bedroom. The room was awesome and all necessary amenities were available. The TV was large and all good channels were available to watch. The internet was very fast. The morning breakfast was very good and plenty of options were available to choose from. The next time when I am visiting Chennai, I will definitely go to Residency towers again.
