I had stayed in Residence Towers last December and this year actually clicked Residence by mistake and booked it. But what a wonderful experience indeed. The hotel is situated in a quite area. Check-in was very swift and it was great to know that they had 24 hours check-out facility. The rooms were spic and span. After refreshing up we walked to Pondy Bazaar ( about 15 min walk and did great shopping. The greatest advantage is the location - close to Pondy Bazaar and restaurants. The food is expensive though. Internet is free and high speed too. Morning Buffet breakfast had a very good variety Pongal, vadai, Poha, Paratha etc. Very delicious indeed. All in all a fantastic stay and we will definitely come once again. Highly recommended!
The Hotel is in T Nagar at a very convenient location. It is often confused with the newer (and Better) Residency Towers, also in T Nagar and part of the same Group. It is an old property & was very famous at one point in time. However, the rooms now are in need of renovation. The printing on the touch sensitive switches in the room are worn out & some of them do not work, there is no working night lamp, only one point to charge your phone/tablet/laptop, no drawers at the writing desk, the shelves are loose, the AC thermostat does not work well, the wooden flooring is worn out & the Mini Bar does not cool well The rooms are however clean, the bed sheets, pillows, etc are good. The room is fairly large & the bath/toilet area is functional. By & large the service is good & the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel offers 24 hours check-in, checkout & free WiFi, both of which are good for business travellers. The room also has a nice LCD TV & Tea/Coffee Kettle with supplies. Breakfast is complementary & sumptuous. The food in the 3 restaurants is also quite good. Overall, a good hotel but one that needs the rooms to be renovated to become a preferred stay.
Holiday Trip along with family. Staff was really very courteous. Upon arrival, greeted us warmly with welcome drink. Hotel ambience was good. Complementary breakfast was included. Food was good. Rooms were maintained very clean. Towels, bed sheet etc are maintained clean Price is also reasonable. Good value for money. Had ample car parking space. We drove down from Bangalore to Chennai in our car. Could do sight seeing and shopping by driving in our car.
The residency is situated on the busy street of T-Nagar, with plenty of shopping to do. I loved the stay here, as everything from Food, to Travel to help desk is very well organized and efficient. They have an excellent buffet for morning goers, and the Pub is something not to miss. It has a vintage Harley Davidson suspended. The rooms are clean, and the Club rooms are excellent. Though the hotel is a bit old, a great amount of maintenance is being undertaken to keep it looking new. Service is excellent, and so is the view from the higher floors. Hats off to all staff members, who made my stay a pleasant one.
Excellent property, best is hotel in the heart of the city. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Would rate the hotel as best value for money with 24 hr check-in-checkout (not 12. 00 noon checkout). Breakfast menu is great with continental. Real value for money and awesome service with courteous staff. Very comfortable spacious rooms. Prompt timely service without reminders. Improvement area may be that lighting in rooms can be a bit more brighter. Just the reception experience can be better, definitely good but a few hotels do a better job during Check-in and check-out. Highly recommended.
