I had an awesome experience travelling by own car

Mode of Transport: Car

I had taken my own car from my home to direct Matheran. I reached there in 2 hours by road but the travelling by own car is awesome experience. The road route is to risk to go up towards the Matheran it can be dangerous for the person one who goes for the first time. To go till up to Matheran driving should be perfect and have experience.

Taxis are not allowed inside the city so travel by train

Mode of Transport: Taxi

It was a very good journey to Matheran by car and we enjoyed the sightseeing all through. Good road and nice hairpins curve makes us know about the driverís skills. The taxi was really nice and the driver was also co-operative but taxiís are not allowed inside the city so, I recommend to go by train.

Driving in this route needs skills and patience

Mode of Transport: Car

Driving to Mathern need skills with patience. Driving along side a train at times is a wonderful experience. You cannot drive the vehicle till Mathern, Have to park the vehicle and go till the station by feet or by horse. I would recommend people to go by train instead of car to Mathern as you can manage to get back to work in time. Shortfall of time has been a loss for me, didn't get to watch the scenery of valley which I would have thoroughly enjoyed through train. Train is recommended if time permits you. Have a safe journey to Mathern to enjoy it at fullest.
