You'll get good scenic views

Dec 21, 2015
Mode of Transport: Taxi

There are 2 or 3 routes but most of them is through the main highway. You'll get good scenic views of hills and tiny waterfalls and clouds by the way during post-monsoon period.

There are many nice Dhabas and other small food outlets by the highway, some of which prepare good fast food and main course.

On the way, there's a route to Bhimashankar Temple - one of 12 Jyotirlings of Lord Shiva. So try to make time and visit it if you're a religious kind.

Please note that while returning during evenings and late evenings the highway gets jammed due to long traffic flow.

Tiring Journey due to narrow road

Nov 19, 2015
Mode of Transport: Car

The road is very narrow. There is hardly any overtaking possible without taking risk. Early morning is the right time to start. We should not get into traffic areas of Nashik or Nashik road. Road widening (4 lanes) work is going on. Need to be careful while changing track.

Road via Panvel is fantastic

Jun 5, 2015
Mode of Transport: Car

While going as well as while coming back I took road via Panvel and both times it took me only 4.5 hrs to reach. The normal Pune-Nasik road takes minimum 6 hrs due to single road and traffic. Road via Panvel is fantastic provided you don't get stuck up on Panvel - Kalyan route. Here also I took bypass road and avoided entering Kalyan city which helped me a lot.

Travel with comfort by road

May 30, 2015
Mode of Transport: Taxi

I travelled in a car from Pune to Nasik. It was a very comfortable journey as the roads are new and getting constructed from last one year. Work is in progress. The roads are very broad and new and good to travel. However once you are approaching Nasik, you will take more time to enter city, as the road is very narrow and lots of vehicles pass on either way.

Take the Pune - Mumbai - Nasik Route

Feb 17, 2015
Mode of Transport: Car

I love driving, though its not fun if the road is not good. On my way to Nasik, I took the Pune-Nasik highway. Please avoid this (extremely crowded and poor condition) and instead take the Pune Mumbai Expressway followed by Mumbai Nasik Freeway. While the later is about 50 Km longer it is certainly worth it. Once out of Mumbai, you will get a hoard of Pure vegetarian restaurants which are definitely worth a halt.
