As one drives out of Delhi on NH 24 the road is very good till one reaches Moradabad. There are plenty of eating places as one is on the Moradabad city bye pass road. However, at a junction there is no proper sign posting to indicate which road to take for Nainital. Unfortunately, we were guided wrongly by a local and the road took us through a State road which was single lane and in need of repair at a number of places. Finally, we went through Haldwani-Kathgodam- Nainital and covered the journey by driving nearly 340 kms. While driving back we were told to take the route Kaladungi-Rampur-moradabad. The road is good with not much traffic. However, when u are nearing Moradabad there is a big sign post on your right which reads bye pass road to Delhi. We took the route taking the bye pa ...Read More

My experience of traveling the city by bus was excruciating. I didn't have enough change for the fare. I went back home and got the change then had to wait an entire hour for another bus. Once I had gotten on and paid my fare, I saw how crowded the bus was. I had my choice of seats; One between two fat women, one next to a crying baby or one with a big wet stain on it.

We boarded the bus from Inter State Bus Terminals (ISBT). Bus was neat and clean. Staff behaviour was good. Bus was filled with snacks and mineral water. We stayed in Moradabad for 1 hour. Thereafter we reach Kathgodam. From there we booked a taxi. We advice kindly go for direct booking of taxi for the whole journey.

The move by road was a good decision and I enjoyed the travel. However it’s advisable to move early in the morning to avoid traffic rush of Delhi. The Ghat Road is quite scenic and beautiful. However finding a parking place is difficult in Nainital. It’s advisable to book a hotel with it’s own parking. You can go to Corbett on your return back to Delhi. There is a different route to Corbett. But book your tickets for the safari well in advance. Otherwise the resorts in Corbett con you.
