The travellers should always prefer the AC bus depending on the availability. It\'s good that one should board the bus in the evening around 5:00 pm so that he/she reaches by the time the sun rises. I found Heera Himanchal good and can be my next times choice too.
I had a comfortable journey while travelling to Manali and I enjoyed at the halts where it stopped. Arrangement in the bus was up to the expectation. Locations for halting were nice, economic, safe and had good surrounding.
I did not have a good experience while returning back. Kalpana Travellers did not seem to be a good choice since no water got provided, place for night dinner halt was not nice.
Please be careful while choosing the right traveller and always carry the required amount of luggage specially clothing as ...Read More

This trip to Manali was one of my best trips. I choose to go by HRTC bus in the month of December dated 22 dec to 26th dec. I chose to travel with my friends via semi deluxe bus and chose Volvo while returning. But I would recommend people to take the HRTC bus whose price is Rs. 1199. Don't choose the bus which costs Rs. 995 because this bus offers very congested seats and on the other hand Rs. 1200 bus provide full comfort with luxury.
In my 3 day trip I visited places like hadimba temple where I was fortunate enough that I was able to see a proper snowfall which provided a refreshing environment and a feeling never ever had. For skating kind of activities we visited Solang Valley which was fully covered with snow giving an ultimate feel of fun as you are able to play with snow. We had ...Read More

Volvo Non-AC bus was booked. The journey started from Delhi at around 5:30 pm. All the passengers were well-mannered mostly they were couples. The bus halted at an average Dhaba. The food quality was ok. Next day in the morning the bus halted at another fast food restaurant at around 5:00 am. We had a tea and snacks in the morning. Then the bus proceeded for Manali & arrived at 8:00 am in the morning which was the scheduled time. Recommended to all.
The volvo bus by which I travelled was good. I really liked it a lot. The bus was really comfortable and we hada great journey. It was a smooth travel overall. The AC was good. While travelling from and to Delhi to Manali, they had provided enough rest stops. Volvo from Manali to Delhi was not semi sleeper, it had only reclining push back seat and AC.(Half point deducted for this). Same Manali to Delhi Volvo have only one charging point near driver seat! There was no individual charging point at seat, as well. I have deducted ONE POINT for their pick up point (Majnu Ka Tila) which is a very isolated area. They had not provided any basic shelter for the passengers waiting for their bus. All passengers had to wait for the bus in the open. I faced one of the most horrible cyclones (on 29/05/2 ...Read More

You should only choose semi sleeper with AC, they provide blanket and water bottle. One more very important info don't give any money to bus staff to load your bags in bus. Carry blanket for personal use, wear only comfortable cloths on travel period.
We took Himachal Pradesh bus service from Kashmeri Gate bus terminal New Delhi. Bus was in a good condition and we booked online ticket from website. Bus was on time, there were 2 halts during the journey. We travelled during night and it was a very cold season that time so we slept all the way.

We started from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg Metro Station sharp at 5 pm. The driver and the staff were good. With only one stop for food at night and another for freshening up in the morning dropped us at Manali before scheduled arrival time. Each seat provided us with personal screen with wide range of music, movies.
Going by your own vehicle is a pleasure in itself. We took turns while driving. As we got closer to manali, the scenes got better. I advise you not to go alone by car because this would make you weary and tired and also will leave you restless. Travelling with friends having jokes and discussions adds an star to the journey.
Road between Chandigarh to Rampur was bumpy and rough, but tolerable. The driver was expert in hill driving, the bus does stops at good halts considering requirements of passengers. The travel was almost half sleep experience as one nether can sleep nor was awake, almost dozing at intervals. Consolation- time saving and comfortable. Overall, nice travelling in luxury couches.
It was AC Volvo. We boarded from Majnu Ka Tila at 5 pm and reached Manali at 9 am. Bus staff behaviour was good. Whole journey was comfortable. I think some persons were vomiting ( as they ask for more sickness bag) back side of our seat. But it is hard to feel that for us. Reality is that comfortable journey and save a day as night journey and definitely very comfortable. I cannot rate the buses as I only travel on HPTDC bus. But I must say that best value for money and comfort.

My journey to Manali took me around 14 hours of a straight, continuous drive. The weather was amazing and the roads are kind of safe. The traffic is moderate throughout and an ample amount of eating joints can be found on the way.
We left around 5 am and made three stops on our way and got ourselves. Good breakfast, lunch and tea on the way.

I got the bus from G-18, Palika Place, New Delhi. It was a nice bus with comfortable seats with a charging point for mobile and laptops at every seat. Bus departed on time and took suitable stops at food points. There was a TV to entertain passengers while travelling. It reached Manali on scheduled time and the bus staff were helpful and good in behaviour.
We are stared at delhi at morning 4 o'clock its the best time to start from Delhi and no traffic found till Bilaspur I enjoyed the driving but at Bilaspur to next 12 km road are very bad, poor road. It's under construction but after cross that area we enjoyed the trip. I am going to first Manikaran and stayed for one night than after next morning we went to Manali.
Yes I am planning for Leh Ladakh on Jun'2016. By road.
Cheers.

It was a 12-14 hrs over-night journey from Delhi to Manali, reclining 120 degree seats, comfortable air conditioner temperature, TV viewing was available. Minimum of 7 halts during the journey at dinner at road side Punjabi dhaba for which they charged Rs. 600 for a plate of chicken! Wash-room to be used at the petrol-pumps and at road side dhabas, better to carry own food and people with motion sickness should avoid bus journey. The bus started 1hr late than the pre-determined departure time.
Choosing a bus is always a difficult decision but if you are travelling to a long route like Manali, prefer semi sleeper as you will be able to enjoy your journey. The halt at the bus is at a restaurant near Karnal, it is bit expensive one. The next halt was near Manali and you can enjoy the nice view and tea.
The travel time from Delhi to Manali is around 13 Hrs (including time for lunch and tea breaks). Since we were 2 people we shared the distance while driving an i20. The road is awesome and trust me very simple unlike other mountain roads. The mountain climb is for around 230 kms but very simple. While going to Manali we stayed for a night at SunderNagar and while returning we travelled in one shot. There is a road from outskirts of Chandigarh which will bypass the Chandigarh city and take you to Manali.\r\n\r\nWe used a i20 which is a very comfortable car and offers a lot of leg and boot space apart from a strong control on the road.
Traveling in car from Delhi to Manali was fun, it took more than 13 hours to reach there, while driving we enjoyed Punjabi food at Dhabas, but from Himachal Pradesh I had to drive very safe, its simple life on risk in mountains, Because if you respect mountains they will take care of you, a small mistake can take life. But experience was great, views were amazing.
I did a lot research about the bus operator, then finally decided to board HPTDC bus. Believe me, it was one of the best decision to opt HPTDC bus. The bus quality, staff behaviour was very superior. But was very clean, very comfortable. I did not travel to Manali by private bus operators, that's why I can not comment on their service, but HPTDC provides very fine service in comparison of other Government buses.
If you want to experience amazing travelling, then I will strongly recommend everyone to travel in HPDTC bus.
Travelling by your own car to Manali is not a good idea at all, because the roads are in a very bad shape. And to add to the ordeal, there are no restaurants on the way. The eateries that are there, doesn\'t serve good food. So food is a real issue during your journey. Better carry some dry food. By car it takes around 10-12 hours to reach Manali from Delhi. On the way, you can get to see a lot of things. The true essence of India - pine trees, hills, mountains, green valleys - and they are really beautiful. March is the best month to visit the place.
Bus seats were not comfortable. We travelled from Delhi to Manali and Manli to Delhi through same bus but seats were not comfortable like other AC buses. But bus was on time, and water was provided inside bus. One more thing I want to add, they ask for extra money according to your luggage size or bags. I don’t think they should ask for extra money if you are already paying for bus fare. As far as I am concerned, it should be included in bus fare itself.
Sleeper is not an option to go in Manali. But AC is must to have. Bus journey is good if you usually comfortable in sleeping while travelling otherwise it will be little tiring. In the early morning you follow the view from the bus then it is very nice. Sometime you will have fear by thinking of narrow roads. But don\'t worry driver is smart and it is there routine travel. They use to charge to luggage 20 rupees each which is supposed not to be levied. I guess only few buses charge this otherwise it is free service.
Took Volvo buses for our travel. Volvo bus facilities are very good. It was a brand new bus. The seats were comfortable. The staff provided the passengers with mineral water bottle and blanket. It was a full AC video coach. Punctual of time. There are many sight scenes on the way and scenes were too good. Memorable bus trip. Overall good experience
We travelled by a semi sleeper AC bus which was of Mercedes Benz of Indo Candian transport. Bus was nice but all the way sitting was boring. Bus conductor was so cheap that he took 10 rs for every bag but after asking company manger he said there is no such rule so beware before travelling.
Volvo bus was very good. Temperature was maintained well inside the bus. Journey through tunnels, hills, beside of rivers in the early morning was an awesome experience. Road before 5 to 7 hours to manali was full of mountains and a thrilling experience. Best transport in winters to go to manali is by AC Volvo bus.

We have booked Volvo bus and it is in good condition with AC working. But once we reached at Manali the tire got punctured and they took around 2 hours more. But when we came back there was no problem and returning trip was a good experience. And the timing of the bus was good and they picked us up from Delhi.
We had booked a package with Sunrise Holidays who had booked a car for us. It was Swift Dzire. The service was prompt. The driver Kanchan was very polite and helpful. He was safety cautious and ensured our travel was comfortable. He was our driver cum guide. The overall experience was good.
It was a memorable journey staff was nice and polite. AC quality was best. Seats were good and clean but do carry anti vomiting tablets as the area is hilly and at a good height. Bus staff provides poly-bags for vomiting. TV was not working. Places where bus halts were selling food items and water bottles at a steep price. But halt at Sunder Nagar was worst with worst wash room.

It takes very less time to reach there by hired car through my travel agency. Driver was nice, friendly and cooperative. At mountain places, it is better to hire taxi then driving self car as it is dangerous to drive. He takes less time and provide us good break at great restaurants as he has knowledge about the place.
The destination to Manali from Delhi is about six hundred and fifty kilometres and it takes around ten to twelve hours to reach. In between you can enjoy the sightseeing which starts right after the Mandi Pass till the Manali reach. The tunnel, Kullu gardens, the river running with us make the atmosphere romantic and the feeling from outside seems to make us insane to reach Manali as soon as we can.
Comfortable seats, and TV with movies, and A/C with adjustable cooling. Halting for toilets and food and waited till all passengers seated. They provided water and blankets. Its semi sleeper A/C bus and but no pillows and roads are awesome with fantastic view.

I liked the journey. I was a little scared but it was ok. This was the first time I was driving in the mountain but it was real fun after a couple of days. We also got a driver for the local travel. The driver also acted like the guide and had taken us to a number of places. I think the people in Manali are honest and very simple. I liked the place and people.
I went to Manali first time and it was really a pleasurable experience in journey. Enjoyed comfort with Volvo bus during the travel and also Hotel Vintage Manali is the best to serve their valuable customer and I enjoyed sightseeing of Rohtang, Jana Falls, Hadimba temple, museum, local sightseeing and shopping at Mall Road.
I would prefer newly married couples to enjoy the trip to Manali.
If you are to go to any place in Himachal, prefer using HRTC bus. The best thing about them is their timing. They do not stop at each and every place like the private operators. The staff is also well behaved. Prefer choosing HimSuta or HimGaurav only.
I visited Manali by my Ford Fiesta. Roads are excellent and scenes are very much loving. I always visit by train but this time I planned to go by my car. Experience was awesome and I decided next visit will be in November by car. Overall, the trip was good. People must visit as couple and family also. The adventure is good. So please visit there.
This bus is the best you can travel in for Manali. The drivers are too well-trained and they drive the bus like a airplane. I enjoyed the bus ride and kept my eyes closed all the time. Just kidding. Though if you wanna go to Manali then you should definitely go by this bus as its too far and this bus is too comfortable.
There are many bus services out there but I always use the services offered by this provider. Kalyan Travels works the best for me and I also always end up saving money on deals. I have used Kalyan Travels many times for bus booking and I have always ended up saving some or the other way. I recommend Kalyan Travels to all who look forward to low cost deals.
Started our journey around 8 pm and reached Manali next day at 3.00 pm in the evening, it was not a comfortable journey from New Delhi to Manali by taxi. There was too much traffic on the way to Manali and almost every one was sleeping for all the time.\r\n
We took bus for Manali. It took almost 14 hours to reach from Delhi to Manli. Seats were really very comfortable with AC and TV facilities. They offer water and they also stop on the way for food and snacks. It feels very adventurous when bus taking turn on hills. Bus offered us blankets too.
Its always fun to drive on the highways and take those challenges of the rude terrain and bumps. As a driver these are the things that you live for. I always love to drive through the rocky terrains. And so I go to hilly destinations whenever I get a chance! This journey to Manali was no less exciting. I had great fun driving. I stopped at couple of places for tea!
We enjoyed the safari a lot. On the way we saw so many interesting things and had real fun. You have to pass through the Kullu market which in itself is a wonderful experience. On the way you can get down at some places for photographs and also for some snacks and tea.
It Sleeper bus. It is good time to spent at journey by bus. Seat of bus are very comfortable and its also very neat and clean. TV facility is also available at bus. They provide blanket, water bottle and pillows. Services of bus are also nice and they took care of all our bags and luggage facility.
I went with our own car from Delhi to Manali. On the way at every place natural beauty was there. On the way I stayed hours for seeing the nature, rivers and temple. I went with my newly married wife to this destination for honeymoon and we both had a great experience. This place make me very happy.

Amazing, I started from New Delhi at night and by next afternoon I reached Manali. Route is difficult after Mandi but any time of the day or night travel is safe and no problem of food on the way. There are lot of food available but when you reach Manali it is amazing. I cant describe it in words and I must say one should see Manali.
Going to Manali is a fun. Go with family, friends or colleagues. Take minimum three days for this visit. Go by taxi and enjoy the sights on the road. Go for skiing. If you are visiting in winters then arm yourself with enough warm cloths. Stay in good hotel because electricity may be problem in low grade hotels and it takes minimum two hours to warm water in bathroom geysers.
Overnight bus journey was not very comfortable. Not because of the type of bus but long bus journey are not comfortable. There was massive traffic jams at places on the way because of which we reached 2 hrs late of the scheduled time. Toilet facilities along the highway were not at all satisfactory especially when you are travelling with ladies and kids.
During the month of June 2014, my wife and I made a trip to Manali. The journey up to New Delhi was covered by train. The journey from New Delhi to Manali was by road, by a hired taxi. In retrospect, the journey was too long, should have broken somewhere in between. It was a tiring 15 hours journey.
It was such a wonderful and journey. I recommend it to everyone!!! This airline because I loves their service very much. At airport everything is fast easy and reliable. All are very good. Services and in flight entertainment is very very very good. I recommend it.
We boarded the bus in the evening from New Delhi to Manali. It was an AC bus and seats were comfortable. It was on time. Bus service was good by Leo Travelheights, but staff behaviour was very poor. They must improve this. Also, the halt station services and food (Where the bus stops for food/rest-room etc.) were very poor.
Bus journey to Manali from New Delhi was really comfortable, it was an AC bus with very comfortable seats, the view of the mountains and rivers passing by from the bus was amazing, the bus halted at good locations and the conductors were really co-operative and the 15 hour journey passed in no time!
Booked Manali package which include a private A/C bus. Overall, experience is not good. Bus stopping points are terrible. Even while returning from Manali in the mid night suddenly we come to know we have change the bus as the other bus does not have permit to go to Manali.
Suggest to book Government bus.

It’s really really good and I would suggest to travel by own taxi. Travel by Volvo just made it worse with back-ache. They don\'t have proper seating facility in the bus, very much unstable journey so you can’t sleep and travel by car is just a little less than taxi.
Signage is the issue as the highway is still in construction mode, so sometimes you need to believe in your guts to go on right path at night. Well! Taxi guys know it well. So no issue when you are in one.
We booked the Volvo from Swagtham Bus service. And the bus was really very nice. The seats were good and comfortable. We had a good time indeed. Inside the bus you can get TV and music system. So you can enjoy a lot. The bus stops somewhere in the middle of the route for snacks. The view is awesome. You can of course have a good time.

I had seen rarely good buses, in respect to all facilities. The bus ambiance was too good in the AC Volvo mini bus, LED television, comfortable push back seats. The bus was on time and it was a semi sleeper bus but was comfortable. Blanket, water bottles were given. Driver and the conductor behaviour were also good and most important he drove safely and was on time.
The way I used to go to Manali is by road as trains are up to Chandigarh and after that you have to travel by road. It just saves your 1 to 2 hour’s time. You can also travel by air and it is expensive and no sure weather you will take off or land because of change in weather. So take your personal car or taxi even bus are the best services available for Kullu and Manali.
Well, Haryana Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus service was good or I should say better than I actually expected. HRTC is semi govt I guess, I am not sure though. But yeah, the staff of HRTC was much better than our Delhi Transport Corporation staff. It was an awesome journey to Manali. Thanks to HRTC and Manalians.

The best time to go to Manali from Delhi is in winter season. The bus started on time and the places where it stopped for dinner, tea etc were all good places not expensive and all of good quality food and surroundings. Best part was two drivers were there and they were very supportive. There was a place in Manali where the local taxi men were stopping the buses from going further where the private bus people were leaving there passengers over there only. This Himachal tourism driver logged a complaint in police about those people. I would highly recommend Himachal tourism buses for going to Manali.

Bus journey was average neither too good nor bad since it is the only option to visit Manali (without break journey) so from that point of view it was ok. At the time of returning from Manali To Delhi I took Himachal Road Transport Volvo-AC the attendant of the bus was not helpful in nature.
It was a pleasant surprise to see that the state buses have improved so much. The plush volvos are what you need for the 13 hour journey. Seats are wide and comfortable, and the leg rest ensures that your legs dont stress out.
from my experience, these volvo buses by HRTC are far better than the ones run by private operators.
Better get the front seat if available, back seats may become uncomfortable at night. Video was available, better start during evening from Delhi, sleep at night and wake up early morning to enjoy scenery. Bus stops at certain location for meal. The stop locations are defined based on the contract with whom the bus operator have.

It’s great to drive down to Manali but make sure that you love driving as it’s definitely a long one but the roads are good and totally safe. Volvo\'s are bad to travel in so take your car if you can. Its most comforting and the best means to travel and you can always park your car at the hotel.
The bus was a Volvo bus with comfortable chair and foot rest. The bus was a video coach where they ran some movies during the travel. The halts where the bus stopped were very costly. The bus was having charging points under all seats. The bus started on time and reached approximately on time.
It was nice experience travelling by bus. Enjoyed the beautiful nature, waterfalls, rivers, huge pine trees tunnels etc. The bus stopped at one hotel where we enjoyed having some food and nice tea. The bus seats were comfortable. The bus was well maintained. It was a good experience to travel by bus to Manali.
It is a good journey and takes around 15 hours to reach the place. The road is smooth and hence you can have a hassle free ride. It is comfortable and if you are in a Volvo Bus, the trip is really comfortable indeed. The scenes on both sides of the road are amazing.
It was quite a fun packed experience. We went to Shimla, and then to Manali via cab (Toyota Innova). It takes around eight hours to reach Shimla and six to seven hours to reach Manali. The traffic jam can be quite a headache; however it’s very much worth the wait.
I travelled to Manali by train from New Delhi to Kalka and journey from Kalka to Shimla by bus and stayed in Shimla. Shimla to Manali was very exciting and enjoyable trip to Manali.
I like to travel by Shatabdi Express as it was a comfortable and safe journey.
The semi sleeper seat was really good that we never felt like we had covered such a long distance. There was water bottle and blanket facility. There was TV to entertain us.\r\nThe driving of the driver was also good. We felt safe through out our journey.
Nice experience by car and if there would have been an airport travel would have been quite easy. We felt really tired travelling by car and the distance was around 550 or more kilometres. So it\'s quite difficult.
It was a great journey but a little tiring as it was quite long. Volvo Bus was really good and everyone has enjoyed the journey. We returned from Himachal Pradesh Tourism and that bus was also quite comfortable and good. The halts were also great and we enjoyed patiyala glass juices and Punjabi/Haryanvi food in the mid-way.
That was our first time travel by A/C Volvo bus from Delhi to Manali. We got the bus ready at Mandi house, New Delhi to Manali. We have seen beautiful view of hills during our journey. The seat of bus was semi sleeper, and we did take some very good night sleep.
I travel a lot by HRTC from Delhi to Shimla, and this time my travel was good. It was again a good experience. You can book online as well. This is a AC VOLVO which starts from Himachal Bhawan Mandi House Delhi, then it goes to ISBT New Delhi.

I took Himachal Volo bus service from Himanchal Bhawan, New Delhi. It was on time. Cheap and best way to reach Manali. Awesome morning scenes from the bus. A great experience, I would recommend to use Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC). Manali local tour for roaming in and around Manali.
Good journey through mountains and the bus staff were very good. Good journey through the mountains and the bus staff was very good. It is a great place for a religious tour. All temples, Rohtang are a must to visit. Food was average. Visiting temples and hiking, boating, was great. Shopping was good and good woollen items available.
Travelling by bus is so good with friends. There are many things I could say. But I\'ll make it short, bus travel should rename itself van travel. Nothing wrong with the driver, he was nice and helpful. The van was however old, beat, and sounded like it was in need of repairs. You would think a bus or transport to the blue lagoon would be of decent condition because it\'s such a travelled location for tourists. For 3,000 I would have been happier to pay the extra 400-800 to travel on a safe transport. Including me having to sit sideways/lop sided due to no luggage space for travellers. Not good for business. I do not recommend.
We started our journey from RK Ashram Metro Station Volvo Stand by 5.30 pm. Staff of continental travel were co-operative. There were halt based on the passengers requirement. Overall it was a good experience. We reached Manali by next day morning 7 am.
The car we got was swift dzire and we had a Punjabi driver. It was really funny to be talking to him. It was really a long journey from Delhi to Manali. Took around 12 hours to reach there. But we didn\'t get bored for such long since the driver was talking to us.
Good roads all the way. At Manali had a minor problem with my vehicle, which was rectified by an experienced mechanic at Manali itself. But it was fun walking around the old city, and having the local food. The restaurants have started taking advantage of tourists coming during the summer months, and charge an enormous amount even for basic simple meals.

If you visiting Manali it is best to go by your own vehicle. You have the freedom to stop anywhere and enjoy the weather. It was a long journey so you might have to stay to get rest. It was really a great experience to Manali by road trip go with the group to enjoy at the fullest.
Good experience throughout the trip and driver nature was quite good. Driver was little lazy and tried to avoid sightseeing but overall he helped us to visit places without disturbance and gave us more space for enjoying. It was safe and secure drive for us.
I travelled from New Delhi to Manali by bus and visited in the peak month of April and Rohtang had very scanty snow bound areas but with unlimited rush everything other than snow was enjoyable. Specially the momos, samosa and egg ,boiled and omelette and lot of thing to do over their, Solang Valley is also good for adventurous sport.
Manali Trip is the best trip by my car. We travelled very comfortable with our own convince. The route is very nice and enjoyable. So please visit Old Manali with your own convenience. There are many dhabas and hotels in the way.
Nice bus, nice hotel and a wonderful stay. The seats were comfortable seats and bus service was on time. It’s an AC bus and clean and good. They also provide water bottles.
I left at morning 7 am from my home i.e. from New Delhi to Manali by my car and I reached at night by 9.30 pm. Manali night stay was nice. The next day we went to Solan Valley. Then travelled to Leh by Rohtang- Kylang- Jaspa Sarchu and Pang.
