Very good, comfortable and enjoyable. Hawkers selling food, train was on time... There were musicians on the train entertaining us. Toilets were clean.

Burdwan offers interesting food like Puri sabzi, toast, eggs and the speciality of burdwan mihidana and sitabhog and soan papdi.

Local items of shantiniketan crafts like bags and gamchas were being sold in the train.

It is about 145 km from kolkata and famous for Visva bharati university. We started our journey from Howrah station to Bolpur santiniketan station, a short journey.

After reaching bolpur we rented a car and stayed in a hotel Royal Bengal, the hotel was far away from station but best hotel of santiniketan. During our stay, we visited various places by a car. We enjoyed our journey very much.

Fastest train to reach Bolpur Santiniketan

Dec 18, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

It takes you to BHP within 2 hours 10 minutes. Mostly on time, rarely late running. The second sitting and AC Chair Car coaches all have fairly clean toilets, never seen shortage of water supply.

I prefer and I'd recommend this train for its convenient time table.

Are you a music lover? You can get to hear live Bengal's baul songs and songs of Rabindranath Tagore on board.

Reserved compartments are filled with people with general tickets

Dec 14, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

The train departs and arrives on time. The timing of this train is very correct if you want to use the entire day for exploring the place.
I traveled in tier-II and the seats were in good condition. The route provides great views but in the winter time mostly nothing is visible as it will be fog covered in the early morning.Food and water is not provided atleast in tier-II.
The most irritating thing about this train is people with general tickets board the train's reserved compartments and they either stand and crowd the place or sit and encroach reserved seats.

Lovely fresh vacation with lots of natural beauty, lal mati- red soil, forests and deers, amazing locals and awesum peaceful place. The train was on time but very crowded as local passengers also aboard. The journey was 3 hours long. We then went by auto to hotel, which took 45 mins. Had lunch, took bath and off we went to check out local sight seeing. Next day we went to viswa bharti, amar kutir, lal mati and jungles, third day was Massanjor dam. I loved it.
