Started our journey from Howrah Station to New Digha by Tamralipta Express which was on time. The seats were good but the condition of the toilets were pathetic and seats near the toilet gave you a horrible experience during the train journey. The train should be cleaned properly otherwise railway will soon loose it's potential passengers for this route. The journey was very smooth as it takes 3 hr 20 min to reach Digha with minimum stoppages. AC and non-AC seating reservations were availabl ...Read More

"Drive outside the bustling city of Kolkata"

Since Kolkata is a city full of traffic and roads are terrible, hence, a drive along the highway to Digha is quite comforting. If weather is cool then the drive becomes more better which in our case was good as it was a winter day. Its a total of 180 km from the outskirts of Kolkata to reach Digha. One has to pass by a lot of small towns which are very crowded so driving has to be proper. Moreover since almost of the distance is single road and narrow highway so one always has to be cautious abo ...Read More

"Good road condition with good stops for breaks"

For shorter destination and weekend travels I always rely on travelling by my own car. As usual this time also I visited Digha by my own car. The road to Digha is in very good condition except some few stretches where road widening work is going on. It took 4 hours to cover the distance from my home and the car was sedately driven and relaxed and no over speeding. I followed this route Kona Expressway, Kolaghat, Nandakumar, Contai, Digha. One can stop at Kolaghat for break and refreshments. T ...Read More

The bus was classy and as we went in summer, it was awesome to have a nice air conditioning system. The conductor was behaving nicely and there was TV for entertainment. Seats were comfortable too. Though the bus started late but we all know it always start a little late and overall experience was good.

"Best catering services but coaches were a bit old"

Although the coaches were a bit old, the on-board catering service was one of the best I have experienced on the train. You get a bottle of water, 1 facial tissue, 1 Frooti to start with. Then you will be served chicken soup with breadsticks. For non-veg lunch you will get 4 chapatis, rice, 1 dal packet. Chicken curry, pickle, mishti Doi and vanilla Ice-cream! What more can you ask for? There were mobile charging points even. It’s a superb train :)
