Enjoyable ride as landscapes enroute was good

Jan 17, 2015
Mode of Transport: Taxi

It was comfortable and very interesting travel. The landscapes enroute was good and eye catching. One must carry with him plenty of water and a good route map and music CDs of one's choice. Small pillow will be very helpful. The driver should be able to converse in Hindi and English both. Light snack should be carried.

Never travel by SETC Ultra Deluxe Bus

Aug 3, 2016
Mode of Transport: Bus

There are no AC buses from Rameswaram to Kanyakumari. If there is no train service on that particular day of the week, then one is left at the mercy of SETC. I thought that 'Ultra Deluxe: would mean a good comfortable non AC bus but what we got was a noisy, shaking, shattering bus with no TV or music. The worst part was that the driver gave the bus to the conductor to drive half of the way! The roads selected by the operator was perhaps one of the worst roads in India! By the time we reached, our backs were breaking.
Please, why can't the TN Govt improve bus facilities on this route?

Innova experience on road to Kanyakumari

Nov 29, 2014
Mode of Transport: Taxi

First I visited Madurai and then Rameshwaram and finally travelled to Kanyakumari by Innova vehicle being a middle aged person I never felt tired while travelling and it's the best vehicle to drive with. Local transport is advisable since roads are also very good with restaurants, dhabas at every 10 km. One should carry water bottles for avoiding outside waters.

The road connecting from Rameshwaram is not very good, so we were recommended to go near Madhurai, from there the road to Kanyakumanri was very good, the view was very good, the best time to start is after having breakfast, the windmills were a site to see, lot of green, refreshment stall were good.

Horrible journey and not a recommended mode

May 28, 2015
Mode of Transport: Bus

I would recommend to travel by any other private A/c buses rather than travelling in a Government bus. It was a very terrible experience. The bus condition was not good. Also the bus left Rameswaram at around 7:30 Pm in the evening and we reached Kanyakumari at 3:30 Am in the morning which was a tiring journey. Also there were insects in the bus which bit me and led to Allergy.
