A Sandy Journey

Jul 28, 2016
Mode of Transport: Train

Travelling from the train surely offers beautiful views and this time it was of deserts, sands and dunes with less inhabitants. We got our reservations in 2nd AC coach but we didn't find that coach appropriate of the stature. Also, the train got late by 2 hours to reach Jaisalmer. It had a long halt at Pokhran Station. But if it hadn't stopped at Pokhran, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the 'Aloo-Mirchi Bada' available at the station, which was so yummy, tasty, hot and spicy that our irritation was diluted.
There was also a Japanese documentary maker, who was making a documentary on Indian Railway Journey and asked us to sing songs, enjoy and tell something about the same. It was a wonderful experience.
The train was stopped at platform no. 1 which was a advantage as we didn't have to drag our luggage for too long. The Jaisalmer station was clean and the way 'Jaisalmer' word carved on the wall was beautiful.

Mode of Transport: Train

Train generally gets late but when we boarded that day train was on time. The train is overnight which makes it a good option. Book before to get ac class. Toilets were clean and compartment was not clean in Jaipur. Moreover due to good crowd sleeper class is also a good option.

View along the road was too good

Nov 10, 2014
Mode of Transport: Taxi

The roads are very well-maintained and we got a very good car and a good driver. The view along the road was too good with lots of peacocks to be seen on the roads. The sad part is that you find children on the road asking for drinking water to be donated.
