From Shamshabad airport we travelled by Air India AI 127 and the flight left to Delhi evening at 9 PM and arrived Delhi at 23.10, there we stayed in a Hotel and following day morning at 9.50 AM we left to chandigarh by AI 864 and around 11 AM we reached there, and from there we started our journey by a car booked by the Hotel. Overall the journey was very nice.
It is good a medium way but since it is a long journey on need to take sufficient rest while travelling and do not take the food of the dhabas because the quality is very bad and toilets are not so well-maintained, so take sufficient amount of food with you when travelling.
Best train with a/c sleeper compartments and food is good. I like most is everything train is in time seats are good. I had travelled in this train for return journey too. A/c once tier I travelled. I suggest the travellers to travel in this train for faster journey.
Basically itís organized by college tour and travels team. Train No was 2011 Kalka Shatabdi which leaves New Delhi at 07:40 in the morning to reach Kalka at 12:00 noon. Here you need to change to the Toy Train and itís a narrow gauge train which leaves for Shimla at 12:10.
Train No 255 Himalyan Queen reaches Shimla at 17:20.
As usual Air India brings you services at a reasonable cost. As it is an enterprise government so no need to bother. In spite of government you may feel an excellent service over there in the flight. The journey was never horrific but was quiet romantic. I boarded the flight at Shamshabad heading towards New Delhi and from there to Shimla by bus and remaining distance by train.
