Had a pleasant travel by KSRTC from Hyderabad to Mysore

Aug 26, 2015
Mode of Transport: Bus

First of all I would like to recommend KSRTC VOLVO, the bus is simply super and the staff are of-course Telugu understanding people and it was a A/c bus which was awesome. It is a good tour if you are travelling solo or with friends. You pay for the bus trip and have to shell out for food and the entrance fee for the attractions along the way.

The bus was clean, the A/C was working and more importantly the staff including the tour guide is very friendly. The tour line up was good. They stopped for restaurants for meals, but I thinks the types of the restaurants are below average. I am sure the staff getting some commissions from those places. If you are concerned about about the food quality specially in India, better to take some snacks, fruits, biscuits with you and avoid eating at the places they stop. For lunch there is a McDonald outlet in Mysore town and ask them to drop you there. Also they take you for shopping in the town and if possible avoid those places as naturally they are expensive places.

Its a long, tiring, packed tour, The bus trip makes a good variety of stops at some of the most popular shrines and sights around Mysore, but the stops are short. I felt we spent more time on the bus driving on the bus with short 30-40 minutes to get through a temple (which is almost impossible). I would recommend this trip for a first time visit when you don't really know what you want to see. If you want to dwell and spend time reading the placards and exhibits, I would recommend something else.
