Good roads and delicious food on the dhabas

May 10, 2016
Mode of Transport: Car

I travel to Amritsar via road through my Ford Eco Sport Car, the roads are good, except a small patch and rush in Jalandhar, parking facility made by Gurudwara Committee is excellent.

The main thing the Dhaba at the roadside are very good and serve very delicious food like Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal for Garma Garam Parantha.

Jalandhar Haveli for yummy food like, Amritsari Naan with Cholay.

Good road with basic amenities all along

Feb 27, 2015
Mode of Transport: Car

We drove from Mohali to Amritsar. The road till Jalandhar is excellent, but from Jalandhar to Amritsar, the road widening project is on. So there are diversions and traffic moves in single lane. This can be very frustrating with slow moving traffic slowing down the entire trail.

There are good roadside dhabas all along. We stopped at McDonalds in Jalandhar on our way to Amritsar and at Haveli in Jalandhar on our way back. There is Lucky Dhaba next to Haveli, which is an older restaurant. Both of these are highly recommended.

Wonderful road journey because of good roads

Mode of Transport: Car

Road is very good till Jallandahr. After crossing Jallandahr, there is a stretch of about 30 km which is single lane and always full of traffic. As we drove on NH-1, it is lined up with good dhabas. Gulshan dhaba is our regular stop and it serves good paranthas.

The Journey is pleasant to Amritsar from New Delhi by Amritsar Shatabdi. Itís a six hours journey and is full satisfying. The seats have good leg space and there is ample space above the seat to keep your luggage. The food served in the train is nice given at few intervals and newspapers to read. Overall, it is a stress free journey where you can easily pass your time.
