Roads are deserted with occasional refreshment stalls enroute

Sep 13, 2014
Mode of Transport: Car

We travelled by my car from Panjim to Ramnagar(Panjim-Belgaum highway) then taking the Belgaum Karwar highway we missed the turn at Ganeshgudi and reached Dandeli via Bapeli-Potoli. The entire car ride was amazing expect for few km stretch near Goa-Karnataka border. The roads are deserted once you leave Ramnagar with occasional refreshment stalls enroute. Road signs are confusing too many of them being in Kannada, carrying a GPS or preloading Google Maps would be of much help.

Hilly area so drive slow

Jul 9, 2014
Mode of Transport: Taxi

The road is good to travel in car or in any hired taxi. Only at certain short distance you may face problems. Otherwise itís good and a smooth road. If anyone wants to enjoy sightseeing view while travelling it is best to go at early morning. There are dhabas on the way; they have food veg and non veg items. Also there is a hotel with washroom and toilet facility. Itís better to go in a car with friends early morning if they want to enjoy the ride. So there is no hurry and you wont miss the scenes. Itís better to carry sweaters if you are travelling at night. Itís a hilly area so drive slowly. Fill your petrol tank because I donít remember if we saw a petrol pump on the way. Please do not forget to take stephanie and check the brakes!

Soothing weather and nice view of the ghats

Mode of Transport: Taxi

Long journey, but soothing weather, and nice view of the ghats. Though the Dudhsagar fall does not fall in the way. Traffic is smooth, infact there is hardly any traffic. A point to note is do not carry any liquor bottles from Goa, as there is strict checking when you cross border into Karnataka

Drive to Dandeli!

Apr 11, 2014
Mode of Transport: Car

Our group badly needed a break from work. We thought of Dandeli and we went for it. The drive was good - not great but good. This was my first car drive outside Goa and I loved it because of that. Our stay was at Century Resort - which was good enough. However, I missed out on white water rafting this time. Camp fire at night and BBQ was good. Took the hotel staff's help for arranging the BBQ.
