A road trip to Mussoorie is not too much of a bother. It is just 300 km, taking you about 8 hours to reach at a relaxed pace. We embarked on our journey in April, 2015; started off at 4. 30 Am in the morning. Since it was an extended weekend there were quite a number of vehicles once we crossed the Delhi border. The road is quite good up to Muradnagar after which it gets too bumpy -- huge potholes -- and crowded. This is a stretch of about 15-20 km. As you cross this stretch the road becomes quite good and you come across so many private universities and colleges with names like MIT (Meerut Institute of Technology). Huge campuses offering every course under the sun. We reached our first break point -- Cheetal Grand -- located almost mid-way between Delhi and Dehradun. The place offer ...Read More

"Shatabdi is better other trains in North India"

Travelling via trains always give you an opportunity to spend more time with family/friend or whom so ever one is travelling not bothering about what others are up to on the road while driving. Travel experience in shatabdi is better other trains in north India, these trains are clean, always given priority in terms of schedule over other trains and space is decent. One main thing railway need to improve is food in the train and cleanliness on the railway station.

      "Roads were excellent"

The travelling experience was good. The roads were good with beautiful scenery while going to Mussoorie. The only issue is the road leading to the destination is very narrow which makes difficult for the cars to move. The overall experience while visiting this Hotel had been good where you find many things in between the place where you can stop over and see the valley from the hilltop. The weather was excellent and it became colder by the evening and children were enjoying to the fullest. You will find many eating joints in between the route where you can stop and hae maggie points and tea.

The train was on time. But the bad thing is the train is on mid nights so you have to compromise your night sleep. It was reach on time at DDN but it was very costly and difficult to go Mussoorie from DDN by car, but through public transportation its very cheap.

I booked through 12017 DDN shatabdi express. We booked in Chair Car. Journey was very pleasant. Train has pantry and staff is courteous. Kid enjoyed a lot in the train. Seats were comfortable. Train reached DDN on time. DDN station is very close to the local bus station from where you can take buses.
