It was off season on July 2013, I planned a honeymoon trip to Kodaikanal, but i cant able to block the seats in train. So, finally decided to go by bus. The ticket was booked by me on line. Travelling to Kodaikanal through KPN Travels is a good experience, always I prefer and like to travel in bus. We started by 8 pm and the bus reached around 6.30 am. Good comfortable seats are worth for the cost. Its non AC service and no video coach. Bus halts near Villupuram for tea break, and Trichy for filling fuel, early morning before the ghats starts bus stops for tea break again around 5 am. It was an awesome experience to have tea on the cold climate. A person who need to get down at Dindigul station was quiet slept and missed the station, who traveled on last seat. "Pandian Express leaves Chennai at night so time is not wasted in travelling"

We went by Pandian Express as it leaves Chennai at night, so that our time is not wasted in travelling, and we could reach our destination sleeping comfortably. The train was neat and clean, as we had already had our dinner at house we were not aware about availability of food on the train or any station, but yes while returning we had boarded the same Pandian Express from Madurai, and good non-veg food was available at station. Only the AC paid waiting room at the Madurai Station was not upto the mark, the AC are not enough for such a large hall, we were almost sweating in the AC hall .

Worth paying toll. Very smooth roads. Using these roads will definitely give you an excellent driving experience. I really enjoyed driving my new Honda City, while coming back from Kodai, I had to stop at many places in Trichi to ask how to get out of Trichi and access Chennai highway. It is bit confusing as there are no proper sign boards. There are two roads one to Chennai via Salem and the other is Chennai via Trichi. We ourselves got confused which one to use.

Driving in the hill is a great experience especially in the early mornings when the dawn breaks. I was lucky to see the great creations of the Lord and enjoyed every moment of it. I saw a wild bison in the streets of Kodaikanal near the lake and it was scary. I don\'t know how did it roam over there freely. Everybody had to take cover. We saw Sambar too on the way. That is why I said, in the off season its great to drive early mornings. Roads have greatly improved and you will never feel the tiredness.

The journey was comfortable. There were enough rest stops during the journey. The seats were in great condition and they provide on-board entertainment like movies. The bus have ample charging points and they provide water & blankets.
