Amazing experience

Dec 17, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

I wish to share this experience to all those who likes travelling by Train. Though I had several options of travelling to Udupi, but I always prefer the train journey. I'm a nature lover and this is one journey which takes me close to the natural scenic beauty.

The journey from Bangalore City Station at 8:30 pm and reaches Udupi around 10. 30am next day. The scenic beauty is worth enjoying early morning hours as the train chugs via konkan belt. Though it never reaches Udupi on time but that is something which is not a bother. I enjoyed the delicacy of Mangalore Buns and hot cup of tea when it stops at Subramanya Road station.

The train is clean and well maintained. The 14 hour train journey is worth a travel if one is a nature lover.

Journey was awesome in train by enjoying the nature

Mode of Transport: Train

Journey was awesome in train by enjoying the nature. From Bengaluru City Junction train leave by 8 - 8. 20. We have booked sleeper coach and S2 was our coach. Coach was very neat. No food seller will come inside. Better you pack something to eat before entering into train that's better. There was a bio-toilet in the coach so it was clean. The train reaches Udupi by 10 Am. Overall, nice train journey.

Decent bus journey and comfortable one

Mode of Transport: Bus

I went to Udupi on a cold-cum-foggy winter morning in November, 2014. The comfort level in the bus was excellent. The bus started at 9 Pm and reached Udupi by around 6:30 Am. The route taken was via Hassan, Sakleshpur, Belthangady and Mangalore. The distance between Mangalore and Udupi is around 60 kilometers and quite motor-able.One has to go through the hilly terrain surrounding Shiradi Ghats near Sakleshpur. Other alternative routes to reach Udupi is via Madikeri and Sampaje or via Shimoga, Thirthahalli, Agumbe, Hebri and Perdoor.
