A very good drive - the roads are good

Jan 21, 2016
Mode of Transport: Car

A very good drive to Rameswaram from Bangalore. It is a part of the Golden Quadrilateral up to Madurai. Toll Road - Value for the toll paid. All amenities available en route. As it is a NH - drive carefully - reckless drivers are at loose. Not only that sometimes suddenly people come on to the roads from in between the bushes in the median. No strain if you maintain an average speed of 90+ km/hr. Well maintained roads.

Train trip will be good

Dec 5, 2015
Mode of Transport: Train

As per my experience we should prefer the train. Because sightseeing and beauty of nature also cover. We have multiple train from RMM station. Rail connectivity is enough good as per their limitation. Railway Pamban bridge spans a 2 km-strait between mainland and island and is the only surface transport link between the two.

Thanks !!

Fantastic journey and good sightseeing spot on the way

Jun 15, 2015
Mode of Transport: Car

I have started my journey from Bangalore at 7 Pm, went through Nice Road and exit at Hosur. I have travelled through AH 43/NH 7 Road, I have travelled on my own car, the journey was a very comfortable one, after reaching Salem took a halt for 4 hrs and then started our journey towards Palani after darshan reached Madurai at 4 Pm.

There were many sightseeing on the way, I suggest you to go for Hoggenkal Falls the road condition is good, there were only some of the dhabas on the way from Madurai to Rameswaram so better have lunch/dinner at Madurai itself, after finishing dinner reached Rameswaram early morning. Please carry enough water and also you might get confused with the routes so use Google Maps.

Require improvement and uncomfortable seat

May 31, 2015
Mode of Transport: Bus

From Bangalore to Rameshwaram and From Rameshwaram to Bangalore I opted the same travellers services which was KPN Travels.

From Bangalore to Rameshwaram (Bus No. 9992) was very hectic due to some defect in the bus seat. I asked the conductor and the driver that their is some problem in my seat. I cannot sit straight as the leaver of the seat is free or not working. First it was very difficult for me to explain this simple problem to them due to the language barrier. I know only Hindi and English and they only understand their regional language. Even after knowing the problem they were unable to help me as the bus was already fully booked.

NOTE ** : One thing which I liked about KPN is they called my me on my mobile but because of low battery my phone was switched off.

Awesome non-stop drive!

Mar 23, 2015
Mode of Transport: Car

This is one of the best roads you will find anywhere across India. Even after Madurai, its a single lane road stretch of about 160 km to Rameshwaram. The road is well-built and scenically too its an awesome drive. The bridge joining Rameswaram with the country is worth a stop and its one of its kind.
