Comfortable journey

Jun 7, 2016
Mode of Transport: Bus

We booked our buses (to and fro) on via.com and both ways its was the SRS travels. The pick up was from KR Puram railway station and the pick up van was on time. We boarded the journey bus on time as well.

The bus was a 2/2 seater (AC) and it was very comfortable with ample foot space. We reached Pondy on time, early in the morning.

The roads to the destination felt a little harsh, but the bus was good to handle them.

Book your hotel in advance from a recognised portal. The hotels are overpriced in seasons but you will surely find a good deal online.

Also, hire a 2 wheeler in Pondy and it will serve you well for all the destinations.

Road from bangalore to krishnagiri is high class and from tindivanam to pondy also is excellent. KSRTC volvo multi axle bus gives you the best experience. The staff also is co-operative and they will stop the bus wherever we want to get down. I feel KSRTC is number 1 service provider in India. the quality of the bus is soo good.

Mode of Transport: Car

We started at 7. 30 am in the morning. The route taken was Bangalore-Hosur-Vellore-Kanchipuram-mahabalipuram-pondicherry.

We stayed in Mahabalipuram for 2 days and then reached pondicherry. The review about mahabalipuram is also given. But, here I will concentrate on pondicherry.

The route for throughout the journey is GREAT. About 15% of the journey is little rough as it goes through the village. ECR highway is also good, but was under repair in many places. Rest of the way was 6 lane road. Average speed of car 110Km/hr.

Total journey time with breaks about 5 hrs. Distance 370 Km approx.

A good journey

Mode of Transport: Taxi

The travel was through various areas of our nation. Lush green fields, roadside dhabas style food centre, hospitable people etc etc. The driver was acting as a guide too. We had delicious fresh corns, nice cups of hot coffee but two things for improvement - roads and toilets on the way.
