Mode of Transport: Car

Avoid going through Kerala route as roads are not good and more traffic . Many places rods are single. Going from Bangalore it is better to go through Salem, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari. Lot of places to visit enroute to Kanyakumari viz Tiruchendur, Tirunelveli Nellayappar Temple etc.

A good journey

Mode of Transport: Car

Because of road condition from we felt bad some time, but while coming on highway it was good. But since it is a long journey, directly to kk or back is highly strainful even in a/c vehicle. While going to Rameswaram to kk horrible. Even while on highway sight seeing, food available are good. Make a trip with family and friends with quite lot time makes trip beautiful.

The scenery is awesome and so is the road condition

The journey began in my Honda Amaze with my wife, my son and my mother in law. It was a nice cool morning on 16th October when we started off from Bangalore via the outer ring road and then take a left on the silk board junction to reach the AH43 and there after follow NH-7 through Hosur Krishnagiri Salem Karur Dindigul.

The road has many toll points so keep some ready cash (about a 1000/- ) should do it. The scenery is awesome and so is the road condition. The road has ample amount of roadside motels with clean toilets and good choice of food so don't worry about packing up too many things for your trip.

If you have 6 days with you, I would suggest: Bangalore-> Kodaikanal-> Kanyakumari and while coming back Kanyakumari -> Munnar-> Ooty->Bangalore.

That would give you a super glimpse of the amazing south India. So, what are you waiting for Diwali long weekend is around the corner pack your bags, fill up your tanks and get onto the road.

Must see on the way:
Yercaud: Lady's Seat, Deer Park, Yercaud Lake
Madurai Meenakshi amman Temple.
Kodai-Silver cascade, Dolphin's nose, Pillar rocks, Kodai lake.
Kanyakumari-Vivekananda rock, Gandhi memorial, Padmanabhan palace, Kovalam beach.

Bad experience

Sep 18, 2015
Mode of Transport: Bus

The traveler crew specially some drivers behaved very badly. Don't choose a traveler simply by listening to their plans. They can fool you. The buses were minibus which does not have any facility and very uncomfortable, although you have no other option instead of mini buses.

    • Bus Type:
    • Non-AC
