Good option to travel at reasonable price

Jul 12, 2015
Mode of Transport: Bus

I had been to Hassan on a wet rainy morning in 2014. Hassan is around 190 KMs from Bangalore via Kunigal and Channarayapatna. The bus fare by ordinary bus is Rs 200. The must-visit attractions near Hassan are the temples in Belur, Halebid and Shravanabelagola and Sakleshpur via the Majestic Shiradi Ghat which is under repair and renovation at this point of time. One can see lot of flora and fauna around Sakleshpur near the Shiradi Ghat. The best time to visit Hassan is September to February. A lot of home stays are available these days in Sakleshpur all through the year.

Pleasure driving on this road

Nov 12, 2014
Mode of Transport: Car

Entire stretch is very good as it is part of the Golden Quadrilateral. You can easily maintain 120 kmph speed throughout. Its a pleasure to drive on this road. We started in the morning and had breakfast on the way. There are many options for breakfast. If you have some patience better to wait for Adiga's or Mayura or Swathi near Kunigal. Only irritants are the toll-gates which may get crowded during long weekends.

Good roads upto Hassan

Nov 11, 2014
Mode of Transport: Car

The roads upto Hassan was very good but other places we visited like Gorur, Mullayangiri and Kemmangundi was really bad. The roads to Mullayangiri especially bad and only very skilled drivers can handle the roads here. It would be better to hire local taxi for visiting Mullayangiri, Kemmanagundi etc.
